Hmmmmm...........I don't think so A. The doc who looked at it said it was a lot like cradle cap and that we needed to use mineral oil or other oils on it. As long as I keep an oil based (or something like triple antibiotic ointment) cream on it, she has no problems with it. But give her a couple days for it to dry out and it's there again. She NEVER complains of it itching........and I'd think she would have itching if it was excema. I'm taking Justin to the dermatologist tomorrow and might try to get a bit of "free" advice from her about the stuff behind Em's ears!!

Good idea.. I always sneak in "free" advice on the kids when I take one to the Ped! LOL... Gotta get our moneys worth!!! Speaking of face stuff.... I have an appt for Regan for the ped for her face and her feet actually. AND... she is having lower back pain sometimes in her kidney area so we are needing to address THAT too! I had to call the doc about it today actually because she went to the nurse for it.. and the nurse said it was in the kidney area.
We shall see!

LOL I got my free diagnosis today! I explained the appearance of Emily's "crusty stuff" behind her ears to the dermatologist and she said it was seborrheic dermatitis. She was going to give me a sample of some soap to use on it, but didn't have any.......so she suggested just rubbing a dandruff shampoo on it and to loosen the scales with hydrocortisone cream or something oily enough to moisten the area. She said that sometimes, if the ears are close to the scalp, the child can get an infection in that area. I don't think that has ever happened so far.
We also got a whole bag of goodies for Justin's acne and I had 3 pre-cancerous lesions on my arm frozen and injections into a wart on the tip of my finger........OUCH. But this doc was really good and I was glad we went; even if it was a long drive and we had to leave the house at 6am!!
