YEP< September 26th was Gideon's and my first Buddy walk! We had SOOOOOOOOO much fun. After all that Gideon has gone through, the buddy walk was a breath of fresh air and I havent seen my son that happy and have that much fun in months since hes been sick. It was truly wonderful to be a part of something so great, to celebrate our children and others with Down syndrome and to bring awareness to our community of inclusion for our loved ones with Down syndrome... The only thing I was dissapointed in is that their wasnt any media attention on this, I find this very sad, and I made a promise to myself that next year, I will tell the news media that they should be their to witness the annual Buddy Walk. Ill try and post pics soon. Marriah, Gideon's mommy

Jenn, the closest is in Indy, and has always been on the same day as the Life Chain event in the past. Maybe not this year - then again, I might not do the Life Chain this year. Also not sure if I can just show up with no pledges.

Yep, it's on the 10th in the center of Indy - bout one and a half hour drive. But they will have Chris Burke there and others, and something about a Moose They will start with a Diversity Breakfast, have some fun with the moose , have some entertainment, walk and then lunch provided by Kroger... hmmm... A full, and fun day, it sounds like. Unfortunately, Mary has a dance performance in Kokomo that day. I'll have to find out the time for that - maybe it's an early evening thing. Doesn't look like it's in the cards

A moose? Well now, that is odd Hopefully sometime soon it will work out Chris. Buddy Walks are fun Marriah, did you guys do Portland? We might do Portland next year. It's a toss up btwn there or Seaside I'm glad you guys had fun {{{HUGS}}}} I agree on the media thing. Channel 6 was a sponser for DSNOR and didn't even say anything about it.

We had terrible weather for our Buddy Walk. It was cold and rainy. We ended up closing it down an hour and a half early. Sarah still had a great time and was sure it was her birthday party. Balloons, clowns, inflatable bouncers, face painting, music entertainment, kids, food..............Sounds like a birthday party to me, too! ;D
