don't know much BUT one thing I do know...

for sure is Christopher has a hernia (sp?) right in the middle of his belly button and it hurts him if you press on it. Was at the surgeons office today for his back issue and he found it and man Chris did not like anyone touching it The lump on his back seems to have gone down on its own so the surgeon wants to keep an eye on that but the hernia he feels should be dealt with soon. So we go back in a month and will then probably schedule surgery for that. Reason for the month wait is the surgeon wants to see how his lump on the back is doing then. You know do both at once if both are needed.

Honestly for the Hernia operation I am not worried at all except for the fact that Chris sucks with being put out because I love this Doc and he has done Hernia surgery on Chris before and was a total breeze ;D

Have to say I wonder why one gets Hernia's Hmmm have no idea will have to look that up. Weird you could see it too and if this Doc never pointed it out I would have had no idea

This I am sure will be a piece of cake but we are trying to decide if we should hold off till we get back from Disney or go before

Guess we will see what the Doc says in November.

This I am happy to say is the easiest of things Chris has had to deal with

Geez, don't you just want to stop taking him to the doctor and say ENOUGH ALREADY!!! Poor kid has gone through way more than he should have.

Must be the hernia isn't causing him any pain because you would have known, right? I say wait until after Disney if you can!!

Hey CC when's disney? I ask this as Jeff had an abdominal hernia surgery and the recoup time was MUCH longer than I had thought it would be. So if Disney's close I would get it after so he can fully enjoy it. (((HUGS))) to you all Stephanie

THANKS Gals and YES Jessie, both Colin and I are like ENOUGH no more Docs unless it is life threating. But the kidney issue was found from routine blood work, so cannot ignore. The bump on his back, poor kid complains about it The Hernia I agree didn't seem to hurt him but then again when the Doc pushed on it he was not a happy camper. Honestly Chris is 16 soon to be 17 and I haven't personally checked out his belly button since he was just a babe, no reason too, KWIM

Steff ~ how long was Jeff's recoup time? I figured 2 weeks tops as far as running and doing intense things, is that right?

Only reason we are thinking of doing it this year, well main reason is if the Doc says we should but the second reason to be honest is we have a SUPER health plan BUT this surgeon is not in our network. We can go to him but must pay 1,000 out of pocket before we get any coverage.. So my thinking was we are there so go for it, KWIM cause if we wait to next year we have to start that 1,000 all over again. YIKES that probably sounds horrible on my part to worry about out of pocket but if it has to be done now or Jan. why not save the money, KWIM

We go to Disney after the new year so I am thinking if this is done say mid to end of November Chris should be fine for Disney then.

Honestly when I have a bad day I think to myself goodness I did nothing different with I was pregnant with Kodi Lee or Chris so why does he have so many issues BUT then I just quickly remind myself many have it worse.

Just so ones that read this know most all of Christopher's issues including his heart issues are NOT what are common among ones with DS.

I vent/share here cause it helps me deal, in NO way do I want to worry any new Mom or old Mom for that matter.
