a week from today, Thursday November 19th at 7:40 AM. Chris is having a Hernia that is in his belly button repaired and honestly I am not worried as I love the surgeon that is doing the procedure. Chris has come down with a runny nose so I kept him home and tomorrow he is off anyway due to Teacher Conference and then has the weekend to rest up. Hopefully he will be OK to go back Monday but we shall see cause I want him in perfect health for this. He has to be cleared by his Heart Doc prior and his ped wants him to come in the day before the surgery just to make sure his lungs are clear. I really am blessed how his Docs look out for Chris. I will keep him home the week following surgery since it then will be into Thanksgiving week and its a short week it works out real well. Less days he misses from school Doc says he will be FINE for our trip to Disney in January and will be able to go any and all crazy ride he wants Which is a darn good thing as Chris just LOVES the craziest of rides. Anywho if you think of it and have a moment PLEASE keep good thoughts on the 19 th that he does OK with the anesthesia (sp?) as this is what gets him every time CC~

THANKS girls at this point I am not sure we will be able to have it done this coming Thursday. Chris is still under the weather with a runny nose. But we still have a few days so I will let you know if it goes as scheduled. All the Docs have said lets see how he is on Wednesday. They tell me as long as his lungs are clear, a runny nose is not a real problem. Hmmm the mother in me wonders about that KWIM. Clear lungs YES I agree but no runny nose works for me too CC~

So is he in tip-top shape for tomorrow? Hopefully he's feeling better and just sails right on through tomorrow's procedure.
I'll be thinking of him tomorrow morning.

Surgery is scheduled for 9:20 tomorrow morning we have to be there at 7:50 AM. Chris still has a runny nose but has been checked out by his Doc and today at the hospital at pre admission by the nurse. His lungs, ears and throat are all good so they tell me its a go even with a runny nose. He will be checked out one more time before the procedure to make sure its OK to go. Poor kid, he knows what is up and for the first time in 16 years is begging me to go to school tomorrow. You have to know Chris but honestly his favorite thing is to say NO School stay in the house. BUT tonight its PLEASE School tomorrow. I honestly am not worried we have had this surgeon before and I love him but I worry a bit about how Chris comes out of anesthesia (sp?) with the dry heaves and such. I am sure that won't be pretty with them cutting where they are, KWIM Ouch for sure if he starts in with the vomit stuff Its all in and out same day and I will be the most happiest when Colin Chris and I are on our way home ;D I will let you know how it goes. THANKS for the good wishes CC~

I am happy to report that this surgery was a PIECE of CAKE ;D ;D ;D With all the procedures Chris has had to go through in his short 16 years I never get to say PIECE of CAKE. I attribute it all to the WONDERFUL Surgeon and the SUPER WONDERFUL Anesthesia (sp?) Doc. He talked with us prior and I told him how Chris always reacts to the anesthesia and this guy actually listened and made sure none of that would happen this time and it didn't ;D Colin and I were called into the recovery room and both of us were so HAPPILY surprised to see Chris wide awake, looking GREAT and asking for food He ate drank and an hour later we were out of there. As soon as we were home Man oh Man he was eating like he has never ate. Happy and just never looked better. The surgeon did say it was a good thing we fixed now as it was stuck in there, kind of like having your finger being pinched in the door Not sure what he really means by stuck as I don't even really get what a hernia is The surgeon said this had to have hurt him for sure. That part makes me sad as Chris is just not one to complain about any pain unless it truly is unbearable. Anywho its over and he has this cute bandage over his belly button and Christopher's only complaint is he wants that bandage off. Has to stay on till Tuesday and when I told Chris that he went and got a happy face sticker from my desk and put it on the calendar on Tuesday. Thanks once again for letting me share my sweet sweet Character. CC ~
