that it's been almost three months since Joy has been to the doctor for any kind of illness.
She had her tonsils/adenoids out at the end of September. It was a rough surgery and she spent three days in the hospital because of dehydration.
But since coming home, the only thing she's been to the pediatrician for is a flu shot. This is incredible considering we were being seen at least twice monthly for upper respiratory infections, ear infections and even a couple cases of pneumonia.
She has a chunky cough right now, but there's no runny nose, no fever, no watery eyes. It's like the tonsils were just sitting there, catching all the infection and holding on to it.
As an added bonus, she definitely breathes better and sleeps better at night. I'm so thankful we decided to have this surgery. It was a hard decision, but has turned out to be the right one for us.

Yeah! I love it when that happens! So glad that she's feeling better and not seeing the docs as much as she used to. I'm sure it's a welcome relief. Give her a hug from us. Robin M

That is so wonderful! I felt the same way about my son's adenoids! Just sitting there collecting everything that got close to him. Wait! Before you realize it, it'll be a year!

Jenifer,
That is such good news! I used to tell people that my tonsils went out at night while I slept hunting for new and interesting germs and brought them back. Some people are just not meant to have tonsils. I'm so glad that it is making your life easier!!!

That's awesome Jenifer!!!! Definately something to celebrate! I know how you feel. Russell use to have tons of eye procedures. You wonder sometimes when it's going to end! Does Joy have reflux? I know with Russell, his reflux caused all sorts of nasty coughs but no illness... it's just part of having reflux. Enjoy the lull!!!!! A.
