Chuck had the family medical leave for justin and alyssa. He had to get it redone every 6 months. They may have her use her vacation time first that's what we had to do. Hugs and Prayers still on overdrive here

Hey, sorry to be so late with an update, but life got in the way after I got home from the hospital.
Chase is doing better today, but it doesn't seem that the doctors really know why he ended back up there. They are saying today that they DONT think the toxic shock is back, and his skin color was back to normal today. Weird.
He's eating, in fact I fed him a whole omelette this morning, but has been refusing to drink. I got him to drink a little this morning, but it was a small amount compared to what he needs to be taking in during the course of a day. He was dehydrated when he was readmitted to the hospital, so this drinking thing is something Robin has been struggling with since they released him. Of course he's stubborn like all of our kids, LOL!
We did get him out of the bed this morning, and even walking a short distance within the room, but he was very resistant. I wish I had something more enlightening to share, but I don't.
Robin is still trying to work out something with her job that will allow her to be there for Chase, but still have a paycheck. You have to be at your job for 12 months to qualify for FMLA and she hasn't been there that long yet.
Please continue to pray for both of them, this has really been quite an ordeal, and very traumatic for Chase, and I believe, difficult for him to understand.
I'm uncertain if I'll be able to get up there tomorrow, as it is snowing and the roads are getting crappy again, so I'll have to assess that situation in the morning. The roads have been nice and dry the last two mornings!

Laura, Thank you so much for the update. Sounds like he's a little better. I'm sure it will take some time for him to get his strength back. I wonder if his throat is sore from the intubation and thats why he's not drinking. Hopefully that will get better soon. I hope Robin can figure something out. Maybe the social worker for the ped's unit can help her out. I will keep them both in my thoughts and prayers. Again, thanks for the update....you are a good friend!

continueing prayers that Chase is on the road to recovery. Also that Robin has been able to arrange things at work to be with him. It's hard enough to have a child in the hospital but it's just not fair to not be able to be with him.Hoping and praying for some good news today. Mary G.
