OK...I DID IT...for the first time went up to a family who came into my art studio/gallery last night at ART WALK. They had an amazing almost two year old little girl who walked at 19 months and is making all sorts of great speech sounds. She is also fairly large for her age and very pretty. Brandi...LOL...what I did was ask the mom if she knew you...she said she had heard of you...so that was my opener...she then said ..."We are part of the guild". We had such a nice chat and if you don't know her Brandi you might want to get acquainted. But for me it was a first.
I don't think they came in because of the tie to DS...(often people have been told to look me up and come in at an event for that reason) so this was a chance meeting I think.
No one seemed offended so I might be more open about doing this in the future...who knows.
Everyone is different. I have talked to moms before who almost seem offended that anyone wants to talk about it...and they might be in the company of a grandparent who just cant STOP talking about it ...so ya just never know.

Colin goes up to every and anybody when he sees one with DS. I on the other hand don't as honestly I am never 100% sure if they have DS or not For myself I would never have an issue with one coming up to me, as many have in the past. Actually was how I met one of my bestest pals 14 years ago. Chris was only 3 and we were at our town parade and Janice came right over to us when she noticed Chris. Her son Matt who happens to also be my hero ;D also has DS. We have been friends ever since that day But as I said earlier really depends on my mood as once when we were at Disney this lady walked by came over to me and pointed toward Chris and said "I have one of those too at home" I just kind of looked at her and kept walking. Sorry but "one of those" Hmmm didn't sit well with me. Chris is not one of those he is a beautiful young man. Might have just been my mood... CC~

Just yesterday Milt and Mark came to town for the Buckaroo. They stayed here at work. Super nice guys. Chatted in the parking lot laughing at the rowdy bunch of Brooks friends upstairs for awhile. Just found out this morning that Mark has a sister, w/Ds, who is 45 yrs old. Ohhh boy, it was talk talk talk then. I already thought these two were great, but now they are friends

Hey Jackie-did you catch their names? Is it the family you've seen out there before? I had seen the guy with the little blonde girl when I've walked over there before-of course I didn't have the nerve to go up and say hi! Still don't know who that is...
