Hey uno,
wow whatta week. Have to ask a favor from all my uno friends. Well as some of you know Jeff is going into the hospital the 19th of july and having his 3rd and last heart valve transplant. No more piggy valves the metal one for him.Plus he hasta take coumadin for A-fib so getting the metal one wouldn't put him on coumadin unnecessarily. A little over a week ago he did 2 ct's one of the chest to check scar tissue etc and the other one of his liver to see what shape its in prior to surgery. Well the phone calls from docs started a few days ago in regards to those ct's. His cardio surgeon called to say he had to crack Jeffs chest rather than go in through the right side cause his heart is so close to his chest wall or something like that. He has so much scar tissue his heart sticks to everything and will take a long time to get it unstuck if that makes any sense. it happened last time and thats whay the surgery took sooo long. So they will go in through his chest for the transplant and go through the groin (femoral) for the bypass. P.S. Jeff was so bummed cause they were gonna try to just go in through the side and now can't they got him very excited for that but oh well. But then we start getting phone calls from the liver dept his liver doc is on vacation but he needs to talk to his partner. Well his liver is in sad shape he hasta do another ct with contrast and his AFP and liver CT looked bad which the hepatologist said looks like like liver cancer. They wanted him to do another liver ct this time with contrast but his heart doc said to do after his surgery rather than now. So for the last few days we have had many concerned doctors of Jeffs all of a sudden calling us. Weird. Pray they are wrong about liver cancer which is a huge risk when your liver is already in end stage failure. ugggg... It's been a strange last few days all this amidst a surprise 50th anniversary party My aunt n I are throwing for my parents this weekend. So please think about Jeff this week and all the dramatic stuff he's dealing with in his body and his head. Thanks guys n gals ((( HUGS)))) Stephanie
