I got an email from Marnie who works as a discharge planning nurse in peds at the same hospital Ayden is in. She sent me an email saying his mom asked me to update you on where they are right now. Ayden was diagnosed with ALL (acutel lymphoblastic leukemia) as a discovered by the bone marrow biopsy. He is now in the induction phase of treatment which includes steroids and chemotherapy. He has had a central line put in to make all this easier. Marnie said "Ayden is an adorable little guy and they seem to have a lot of famiily around right now for support. She did ask me to ask you to ask people to pray for them at this very difficult time and that she is sorry she has not had time to update anyone." Marnie reassured her that she has enough on her plate and not to worry...that she would pass along the info. She also said his mom is contemplating giving him a mohawk in anticipation of him losing his hair anyway... Marnie said this is a family she is really going to like and then she said "Again, Mom, thank you for introducing me to your cyber friends! They have made my life so much richer!" (So everyone here take a bow....you all are special.) Marnie can't pass along to me anything the family doesn't give her permission to because of the privacy act but they shared this to be shared with all of you. I will be praying that all goes well.

Thanks Jackie for the update. I have been in contact and prayers are coming in for our angel Ayden and family from all over the country and even across the sea. I have no doubt that God has special plans for this little man to live a long happy life and he is a beacon of light and hope for us all. This family is amazing and I am so honored that I just got to spend time with them so recently. We LOVE you guys!!!!

Thank you all for your love and support, it has been so hard to see my little guy going through this. He has been in good spirits most of the time, and is on day 3 of his chemotherapy. The first phase last for 28 days and is the hardest and most difficult and dangerous time, so please please keep praying for him, I really believe that it is helping him. We did have a bit of good news, well the first really wonderful news since we received the diagnosis. He had a spinal tap and thank God there were no leukemia cells in his central nervous system, so that means less agressive treatment. If you could, please pray that his central line stays clot free, and that Ayden stays germ and infection free during this time that his immune system is shot. And also keep Matt and I close because it has been so hard with baby Evan, taking care of both of my boys and Ash, and being torn between wanting to have Evan with us, but not wanting him to get Ayden sick, or get sick himself by being in the hospital. Matt has been staying with Ayden at night when I come home with Evan, and I know spending so much time there is starting to take its toll on him too. Thank you all again for caring, it helps to know that so many people are praying for Ayden. And to anyone who reads this, even if you don't post, please say a quick prayer for him. thank you.

Myria...thanks for this update...and you presented something I had not thought about before....the pain of separation from the rest of the family. That can be a hard thing...how to be a mom to everyone. Do you have extended family to help? or are you far from home.
