I don't know how many of you remember that Marnie (Emily's second oldest sister) was diagnosed about 5 years ago with MS. She has had several episodes and except for the first one done pretty well with them. The first one left her with some spasticity in her feet and ankles and she takes quarterly Botox shots to help with that...they work but she says ...mightly painful to get.
Two weeks ago she had her first episode involving her upper extremities...and ended up with severe pain and weakness in her hands and arms requiring her to be on steroids. She had to hang an IV bag every night for two hours for almost a week and it left her feeling not so very great. But she is now over the worst effects and back at work but she was a bit down...so....her brother David in Charlotte NC brought his oldest daughter Tabitha (remember he has 5 kids now) to DC to visit Marnie for the weekend. Tabby is 5 and David (who often has to work out of town) tries to do something special every now and then with just one child. This weekend with her very special Aunt Marnie was her treat! Marnie said it was just what the doctor ordered and she surprised herself by feeling up to doing all the things they did....pumpkin patch, riding a friends horse, dim sum at a Chinese Restaurant, toy buying, pink hair extensions...etc.
I know she would like to know that friends of mine and Emily are thinking about her. She is really sorry she didn't get to see Ayden that much but she says she plans to figure out a way for us to meet him and his "WONDERFUL" family next time we go to the DC area. We think she is on the mend now from this one...but that ole MS can be a nasty thing when it decides to rear its head. So keep her in your thoughts and prayers and if you are ever going to DC let me know because she has really enjoyed her contacts with people from this site.
I hope she reads this....I LOVE YOU MARNIE
