Hello, this is my 1st time to ever post on any board, so forgive me if I do something wrong. I am the proud parent of an 11 month old baby girl with DS. We are trying to plan for her future and are setting up a special needs trust to be funded by a life insurance policy that we are in the process of taking out. What kind of dollar amount does she need to supplement her needs when we are gone? We feel like we are pulling numbers out of the air. Any suggestions? We want to do what is right for her, but the long term second to die policies are still really expensive and it will be a struggle to pay for it as it is, but we want to make sure that she will get by with her day to day needs. Thank you for your time.

FIRST LET ME Say WELCOME to UNO ;DWe were told many years back when we set this all up that at least $600,000 was needed to keep things on track for our Special Needs Trust for Chris. We live in New Jersey. I am thinking probably more is needed all these years later But keep in mind that would consist of not only insurance, but any other investments you have, such as a home, stocks, vacation home, etc. CC~
