Yep, I still check this board almost every day. Lot less activity here than on Facebook these days. But, looking on the bright side, I don't get my butt beat at Words With Friends on here. -- Bob

I check it a couple of times a week still...if it weren't for UNO I probably would hardly ever think of the words Down syndrome. For us Emily has become an adult just like the rest of her sibs. She has her own set of issues but then so do all the others and just as with all the others we are no longer the 'problem solver' for most of them. We have all come so far since she was born in 1980. Wish I had Uno when she was smaller but who knows...we had to get creative and figure out almost everything on our own and we all survived...LOL. But it would have been fun to have hands to hold on to earlier in her life. ;D

I used to post to this site in 1990. I am a school teacher, and had a little boy named Jackson in my kindergarten class. Since that time, Jackson has grown up and is in high school! I have referred numerous people to this most helpful website. I remember Jackie...mom to Emily., and loved her posts. Since those years where I needed honest perspective from parents of kids like the ones I served, I have become the grandmother to Tanner, who has a "special" and rare chromosonal arrangement. He is actually missing genetic material on the 21st chromosone! I value this website and am glad to see that it is still up and running and helping parents. I recently referred my dentist to this site, as he and his wife are having a baby with DS.
