what kind of pharmacy did your husband ask? Was that the pharamcy's cost or the person buying it's cost? Because when Regan was on her ADD meds... we tried Adderal, Stratera and Wellbutrin... they were NOT that cheap for 100 pills! We never did Concerta though....
I was just checking a site that gives prices but didn't list Concerta... is there another name for it??

That is what the pharmacy may pay, my nephew is on Concerta as well(54mg) and I know before we had his insurance switched over to us, we have custody of him now, I called for the prices of his meds and Concerta was like 380.00 dollars just for 30 pills. For all 4 of his meds it would have cost us 856.00 dollars out of pocket a month. It was a fight with our Family Independence Agency here to get immediate coverage, I told his caseworker if she can't get it covered then congratulations you just had a 163lb boy with NO MEDS!!!!!!!!!! His meds needless to say were covered the next day. It is ridiculous what these places are charging for meds

Ricki's mom - there's no way the price he was given was correct....Concerta is way expensive. I think it costs my pharmacy over $200 a bottle of 60 (at average wholesale price)...they may have meant either $3.50 Per Pill or $350.00 for the full amnt. If I get to work tonight (its supposed to snow so I may not have to go in) Im going to double check the price and let you know. Usually meds inside the US are much more expensive...atleast compared to Canada and Mexico - but I'm not sure how we compare to other parts of the world. Even though I work in the "industry" I think the drug prices are just out of control...it's sickening when you see the expense and length the drug companies go to just to get pharmacists and doctors to stock/prescribe their drugs. I've been invited to countless dinners at top restaurants, Broadway shows, given gift certificates, etc....not to consider what they pay for advertising....I know that developing new drugs is expensive and takes many years...for many they develop just as many or more will fail, and money wasted...but if they just SAVED some of that $$ they spend on detailing and advertising and passed it onto the consumer...what a wonderful thing it would be. well, enough out of me...like i said if i work tonight i'll check and let you know.

My 17 year old takes Concerta....one 54mg tablet per day. It is certainly not that cheap!! We have insurance that pays for the biggest part of it, but we still pay $25 per month for it. I'm just very very thankful that the insurance company is still willing to pay their portion because I keep hearing that they could stop paying for any meds for ADHD. Not sure what we'll do if that happens!

My older daughter takes Concerta and the pharmacy receipt says it costs $128 for 30 pills. I am fortunate to have a $2 copay. ;D

I'm at work....the awverage wholesale price (the average cost at pharmacies across the US) for 18mg Concerta (#100) is 304.78. Each higher strength is about $15.00 more as you increase. We would charge a cash customer about $350.00 for that 100 pills...give or take. laurie

YIKES THANK GOD for Percription Insurance is all I can say No matter what the meds cost we just pay $15.00 or if the med is cheaper then our copay then obviously we just pay that. LAURIE, sooo true, OMG my good friend is a Drug Company Rep and what she does to get these Docs to use her product WOW the money they spend in entertaining the Docs and such Then on top of all that the Reps get big bonuses and even earn paid for trips if they sell the most Now doesn't take a rocket scientist to know who really is paying for all that CC ~

Yes, Alice - it is horrible...but when you figure most things you buy (not prescriptions) are marked up 100,200,300% and that we practically LOSE money on most prescription plans, plus then have to pay salaries, electric, heat, rent, etc...somethings we have to make a profit on we try to mark up as little as possible...but have to stay in business too!
