Hello everyone! I haven't been here in ages! I've not had much time on the computer~trying to get my house organzed~the clutter was driving me crazy! Also, taking care of 5 kids takes up a bit of my time. LOL I hope everyone is doing well. Patrick is doing great. He has his IEP on April 18th and this is a big one to determine if he should stay in his current program for another year or if he's ready to move on to kindergarten. I'm also concerned that he has alopecia. I noticed a bald spot a few months ago and a new one yesterday and his hair is just getting really thin. So if anyone has dealt with it and has any advice I'd appreciate getting some. Otherwise he's doing just great. We're going to sign him up for soccer and t-ball this summer so that should be fun. Here are a couple of recent pics of the kids. Here are the boys on St. Paddy's Day. Nora wouldn't sit with them for the picture Here is Nora Here are Nora and Patrick goofing around. Thanks for looking and I hope to be around more often! Mary

Great pics Mary - you have 5 gorgeous kids and I can see how you are kept busy!
One of your boys is wearing a "Meath jersey" - you a Meath football fan, or someone in the family? Only ask cos I live in Meath and didn't expect to see a Meath jersey here!

Stella~I can't believe you live in Meath! My husbands family is from there and he still has aunts and uncles and cousins there. A bunch of his family from here are planning on going for a visit in June. The family's last name is Lyons~do you know any of them?

Cool Mary! Whereabouts in Meath? I live in Dunboyne - I am originally from Dublin (shush don't tell your hubby, there is great rivalry between Dublin and Meath!) and I have lived in Meath 21 years in June.

I believe they are in Old Town and Summerhill. I could have those names wrong~I'll have to talk to Bernie. If there's any way I go on this Ireland trip this summer we'll have to meet up.

Hi Mary and may I say what a beautiful family you have. My cousin's son had alopecia and took him to a couple of dermotologists and found that eventually the bald spot would grow in. There is an ointment you can use, but no one could promise that it would cause the hair to grow in faster. In time, hair grew in. You mentioned that Patrick's hair was thinner too. That my cousin's son didn't experience. My advice is to find a dermotologist that has good experience with children or maybe even search online under alopecia to see if you can find any docs that have experience with it. Does he pull on his hair by any chance? Meanwhile, I feel as if I can't get my act together with two and you have 5! Wow!

Thanks Cbean. Patrick's hair thinning has kind of thrown us too because from everything I've heard and read about alopecia, it comes out in clumps. Patrick has had two clumps out but his hair is definitely thinner too. (he doesn't pull on his hair either so I dont know why its thinner.) I guess they key is finding a good dermatologist~the hard part is making sure they're good! Thanks for the advice! Mary
