On the message board, they were talking about how they were unable to get life insurance for children with down syndrome. So even though our son is covered through our jobs, I applied for some just to see if we could get it. (Which we didn't.) Anyway, when they were asking the health info, I told them about his heart condition and repair. They then asked if he had any other conditions, so I told them he had Down Syndrome. She asked if there were any "planned hospitalizations" because of this, I said no. So then she asked, "So is he fully recovered from this, then?" I wasn't sure if she was joking or not, but she was just waiting for me to answer! LOL. My husband and I got a big chuckle out of this! Just thought I'd share.

That's sort of like what my husband's parents said when we told them about Joshua. His mom said, "What's that?" and his dad said, "Is it something he is likely to outgrow as he gets older?" Unfortunately, they had only heard it called something else.

Guess what? I had it, too. Had to induce labor because my blood pressure was too high, then had to have mag sulfate during because it went higher. So maybe we're onto something here? ;D
