Hey everyone!
Sounds like we're doing some hard work to keep this weight off!
I've gone back to Weight Watchers now that I've reached my goal weight again. I'm a lifetime member, so it's nice to be back. I had to shed 25 pounds before I got back down to goal weight, but NEVER again if I have anything to do with it.
I'm still doing Slim in 6 for my exercise program and Walk Away the Pounds on my "off" days. But I'm doing something everyday. Makes a huge difference for me.
Take care. Keep working! You can do it!

Okay, Finally I am game to jump in on this thread... I have Lost 6kg(a little over 13lb) over 4 months.
The best thing I found helped me was to buy a Pedometer. For healthy living, we should all be walking 10,000 steps a day, for weight los it should be around 15,000.
As busy as we think we are running round after the kids etc... I found a lot of day I was actually only doing aroun 5-6000 steps!!! I have mad a small effort to walk extra...just by simple things like... when hanging the washing... I sort into 3 baskets and make 3 trips to the washline to hang it... and extra 50 steps a day, when walking to school, follow the roads or footpaths...dont shortcut accross the lawn, or cut corners... it all adds up.
The other thing... with all the no-carb diets going, I looked into and decided there is NO WAY I can go without carbs... but I have limited my intake and do NOT eat carbs after 4pm, which is when I start to slow down and use less energy.
Seems to be working for me... and I LOVE that I am now at a point where all my clothes are falling off and people comment on my weight loss... Rather inspiring!

Way to go on your weight loss! Doesn't it feel great? Even a little loss can make me feel so much better.
I too have found that exercise is the key. If I stop, I can tell a huge difference. I used my pedometer too. I was shocked to find that regardless of the fact that I rarely sit down all day, I wasn't very close to 10,000 steps. I have to walk two miles to get there.
Keep up the great work!

Robin M, this question is specifically for you. But anyone who wants to comment is welcome! Since going back to Weight Watchers, have you been doing the Points plan or the Turnaround plan? I've been on Points for awhile, but have decided I'm going to try Turnaround, starting tomorrow. I just want to see if I lose any faster. I am also going to start exercising much more diligently. I dusted off my elliptical machine today, and went WW Online and made a pretty comprehensive list of the things I can have in case I get into trouble. Bagels have a way of making me very weak. I just wondered which plan you're doing. Tomorrow might be a challenging day!! Thanks! Jenifer, mom to Joy

Jenifer - Hey! I am doing the point system. I have not tried the new program, but those that are on it seem to like it. Most I know are doing points.
I think points gives you a wider variety of foods to eat. But, if you like a strict regiment and do better that way, the new program could work for you. I'm sure it must "work", or they wouldn't present it.
It looked too strict for me. I have to have my carbs. Atkins ruined me! LOL I love being able to have basically anything, I just have to count those points and keep it under my daily goal. It works for me.
I must say that the exercise seems to be the big difference for me this time. It's been so much easier to lose and keep off as long as I exercise. I'm still working out every day, and today I actually added a half mile of jogging in my my running. Woo hoo! That's the first time that has happened in years. And man can my knees feel it! Ugh!
Hang in there. No mattew which program you choose, I'm sure if you stick with it, you'll lose weight. Find an exercise you really enjoy and stick with it.
You can do it!

Hey everyone! I'm still doing Weight Watchers and exercising every day. It's making a big difference. I feel great and now I'm wearing mediums and size 12 jeans! Woo hoo!
I am working hard not to gain weight during the holidays so I can start the year out right. I'm having a cookie or two a day and some chex mix (low fat, homemade) for snack with the guys. That way I don't feel like I'm missing anything. So far so good.
Every body write in and tell us your dieting and exercise goals for 2005. I'd love to hear them.
See ya. Merry Christmas.

I am with you ...getting back on the lo carb wagon...but waiting until after the holidays....its hard to stick to a plan when you want to celebrate. I felt much better when I was adhering strictly to the lo carb diet....MUCH better...I have been off several months...gained some back....and now just want to feel better again.
Emily is such an inspiration to me...but...she has done hers mostly with her five day a week exercise at a local gym in Seabrook. Its a gym that is set up like Curves....and she does like it a lot and has met some women there...including one who takes her to and from almost every day.
