Has anybody's child ever had that?? Chris had it last month and again exactly one month later has it again They did a culture of the nose YUCK. Now the ENT wants me to discuss options, not sure what options I know one is a cat scan, that would be OK but surgery is OUT of the question and the Doc says well we can talk. Hmmmm he can talk all he wants cause Chris, Colin and I were the ones to deal with the last surgery of Christopher's not the DOC so easy for him to say, we will talk ON the other hand both ENT and Ped are concerned bout Chris being on antibotics so much in his short 12 years I know things are what they are BUT I have to say I do sometimes wonder if Chris would have all the medical issues he has if he didn't have DS KWIM?? Just wondering out loud here and I am sure tomorrow the thougth won't even enter my head BUT today it has CC ~

Yes CC being on antibiotics constantly is a concern. Chris system can get immune to them and when he really needs they may not be as effective.

I had sinus surgery due to extended rounds of antibiotics and antib's that were not specifically for the sinuses so it never really killed it off. So two answers, yes, he may hve still had it (I did!) and too many antibiotics are not a good thing. As an idea, once he is off this round, maybe you coudl talk to the doctor about probiotics. They can be great at warding off chronic problems. I know a little girl with spina bifida who kept getting UTI's and once she went on probiotics she hasn't had one in 6+ months.
