Adam 6 had a bad fever a few months ago due to a bad cold. So like every mother does, I gave him meds, kept him home from school and of course would put my hand on his forehead almost 10 times a day to check for fever. ;D Well he caught on to that in a minute. ;D
When he wants attention now, he puts his own hand on his forehead and puts a pout on (like faking he is sick) ;D our problem is that in the last few weeks he has been having fevers on and off for no apparent reasons, he will put his hand on his forehead or take your hand and make you check and says "ouch!" I saw his pediatrician who seems to think that because the fever goes away it is nothing to worry about. Well I demanded blood work done and am still waiting for the results. The doctor suggested that he may be having migraines. I have had migraines since I was 12 years old, but never had a fever with them. All my other 3 children (not DS) had fevers, but there was always a reason for it, and the same for Adam. These last few weeks there doesn't seem to be a reason. Some days he is fine in the morning and by early afternoon he will have a fever over 39 sometimes. Yesterday he was fine all day and this morning when I got him up he was so hot to the touch when I grabbed his hand I check his temperature, it was 39.8. He still had a fever (39.5) before I put him to bed tonight. He has been taking Motrin and tylenol like it is going out of style. Again he doesn't seem to have a cold or anything. His ears were also checked and nothing is wrong. Just wanted to know if any of your children ever had fevers that could not be explained. I'm sure there has to be a reason for the fevers, but finding out why seems to be difficult. Any advice would be appreciated.
