I have a co-worker , he and his wife just had a baby boy with DS on May 1st. He told me they just had the evaluation done. He also told me that he would be paying about one hundred dollars a month for services. He is a dean at the college were I work, his wife is a nurse. In bergen county do the parent have to pay or does the health Ins. pay. Do they look at the income. In new york the services for Mia are paid threw the Ins. with no hardship to the parent.
Exactly...NJ recently changed their system and parents are really feeling it. It is based solely on household income (per tax returns) and family size -- no considerations for anything else. The co-payments are quite high for many living in Bergen County (I used to live there myself!). But private services are even higher. (So frustrating that literally 25 minutes east in NY, people get far more services and they're free.)
Jack (7 yrs) and Zane's (5 yrs DS) and Drew's (almost 2!) Mommy! :-)
WANDA, I live in Bergen County and YUP EI has changed and now is not free totally. I don't believe Insurance Companies will pick up the EI fee BUT depending on ones policy they will cover private therapies, at least ours did
CONGRATULATIONS to your Co-worker on their new little bundle of joy
We are in Burlington county,NJ our cost share is 55 a month, and if the pt messes up like ours did and puts more hrs than aloud down you pay the differ. My new messed up bill for the last 3 months is 685.00, I just laugh now i'm so disgusted!
