I'm so embaressed, It's only the 3rd time I've fogotten my screen name...anyways, I'm hoping to be a regular once again that I've decided to stay home with my four kiddies(13 to 4) ;D My husband is now working in NC and we will be relocating in July(from SC) Needless to say I'm having great anxiety about the move, my kids, my special guy Adam who is 7(DS) and getting what he needs and deserves educationally. I've talked with the EC department head and she wants a copy of his IEP. Do any of you have any words of wisdom..... I'm planning to take my wrightslaw book and all of Adam's progress that he's made...although my little guy still can't write anything but his name and his speech has gotten sooooo much better, it's hard for new people to understand him. Where in NC are you moving to?
I used to live in Asheville... I may be able to give you some links of places to check into services, etc...
I lived there before I had my guys, but my parents still live there. I would be glad to help with any info I can, if you are any where in that neighborhood..... Good LUck on the move. I love NC... Beautiful place! Kim

Moving is indeed hard when you have so many services to switch over. We moved from Dallas (my home town) to Abbeville, Louisiana when my daughter was just a year old. I was very nervous since she was still under a cardialogists supervision and we were moving to a small town. I made sure I got records from all her doctors and kept all the copies of her IEP's. This made for a very smooth transition. I think you will be surprised how much eisier it will be than you think. I wish you and your family all the best in this change in your life.
Take care!
Amy
