I was just wondering if everyone can help me out a little. I was reading one of the threads and saw different people talking about different assistance. I have a 7 month old and just curious if there is other assistance out available to me and Cooper. He qualified for SSI. I am a single mom and would like to know if there were other types of assistance that anyone knows about. I would appreciate all of your suggestions. Thanks-Wendey

In PA, there is the medical assistance card and also WIC - Woman, Infants and Children. This allows a certain amount of free juice, eggs, peanut butter, cheese, milk per month, until the age of 5. They also pay for formula and specialized formula if needed.
Paige just turned 4, I had no idea of the WIC program until recently. Her medical assistance card just pays for her dr.'s copays that her primary insurance doesn't cover or if the primary insurance does not participate with a certain dr.
Hope this helps.

Hey Wendey.. I am so glad you got an appt with Dr Gibson. I feel sure you will like him. A very easy to talk to guy and very "up" on issues with DS...
I feel pretty comfortable knowing that since we are both in the same state, Cooper will be entitled to things the same as Brace was/is......
I have some things I can snail mail you.. Why don't you email me at riverangels27@yahoo.com or call me at (501) 624-4350 and I will be glad to help with any info I have. Since Cooper has SSI, there are some really cool programs...ranging from babysitting to emergency funding...... Hope to hear from you Kim
