Derek has been put on the waitlist to have the permanent tubes put in. The ENT is going to TRY and put them in but he is not so sure that he will be successful as Dereks canals are so teeny and he has had a hard time in the last putting the regular tubes in.
He is on the cancellation list as well as the regular waitlist (which is about 6 months) but hopefully he will be able to get in sooner rather than later. I notice that he has gotten louder over the last little while and I think it has to do with him not being able to hear himself talk.
For him the ear tubes are minor compared to everything else he has been through but are also very important for his speech development.
Hugs
Allison

Allison, I know what you mean...that's the way I feel, too. Tubes, no biggie...Aidan's been through so much, tubes are nothing! LOL You should have seen him after he got his tubes in...he was saying "WEEEEE" RIGHT after surgery, little stinker. He's used to it, I guess...being put under, surgery, whatever...he's used to it. I see Derek has been through a lot, too. Poor guy. I hope he's doing ok now! That's what Aidan's ENT said, too...if she "could" put them in, she would. Luckily, she could and we had a check-up today and the tubes are in place nicely and he had a hole in his ear and it's healed up! YEY! If it wasn't healed up, it would have meant MORE surgery, blah blah blah. Glad he doesn't have to go through that! I hope Derek gets his t-tubes...that would be great for him not having to go through it as often, etc. Staci
