ok...this is a bit off topic...but...got an email from Emilys boss Norine. I guess she and her husband get tons of mail and its part of Emilys job to go get it and sort it out. I guess she is disappointed that she gets so little...so I put an SOS out to the family about this...but was also thinking perhaps if I got her on a catalog list she might enjoy getting those, too.
Does anyone have any suggestions or sites they could send me....I want to try and avoid those where you join record clubs...but she does love movies, music, and movie and tv stars. She also likes places like Spencer gifts..but they dont seem to have a catalog. Any suggestions will be appreciated to help us generate mail. I know we will be good initially but I have totally moved into the email age of communications...LOL

Jackie - THere's a website somewhere where you can sign up for catalogs....I'll search it out and post it. There's always Lillian Vernon, The paragon, Wireless (she might like that b/c there's some Beatles & Elvis stuff they sell)....you can probably sign up for catalogs at their websites. How about getting her a magazine subscription or 2 for Christmas...people or US, Entertainment Weekly?
anyways - i'll find that addy and post it later...need to clean the kitchen before I go pick MM up from school. laurie

I don't know if this is something Em would be interested in, but Justin LOVES to get mail and he has subscribed to all sorts of FREEBIE sites. Every single day, he gets something cool in the mail......from sample size laundry detergent to post it notes to imprinted pens and pencils to feminine hygiene products!!! (He passes those on to Emily and I, just for the record!) I can ask him for the address for this....he really gets a kick out of receiving something new each day.
Also....would it be appropriate for the Uno Mas moms who have been inspired by your Emily's life and adventures to send her a card or note? If so, let us know and I'm sure we'd be glad to do it!

I was going to suggest something similar to what Susan said, especially since I feel like you and Emily are my and Little No-name's mentors. How about if we all send in postcards with pics from our states...with the melting pot we have going on here she may be able to cover the whole US and even some international ones too! Catalogs I can think of are Disney, Terry's Village, Lillian Vernon, and check this link out: www.freestuffland.comYou can click on free catalogs...looks like some fun stuff.

My first thought Jackie, was, see if we cant get her an "Old fashioned PEN FRIEND"... It kinda seems archaic in this time of electronic "stuff"... BUT... could you or her... advertise with your local DS organisation... or go further interstate or even overseas (I would be more than happy to place an ad in our state newsletter here in Western Australia) and see if that works... Who knows.... with a good West Aussie Pen friend... maybe I could see you an Emily Visiting over here someday!!.... LOL...

I think the postcard of States sounds fun...see how many states she can gather...Norine says her walls have lots of bulletin boards (Emily was prone to pasting up magazine pics everywhere here at home and sort of freaked them all out when she began it in their home...LOL).
If you privately email me...I will send you her address....since it isnt my house dont want to p ublicly post it....
