Well, I know I mentioned in passing my dentist ordeal but never got into detail about it (Sorry CC LOL). Well, I was needing to go back and now see an Oral Surgeon to make sure the last job was done corrrectly but was putting it off until I REALLY got enough guts up... yeah, it was THAT bad...one of the teeth the dentist pulled broke he refused to go back into my mouth and NOW I have something protruding out the SIDE of my gums. It is more then likely the root... it feels like that or a bone or part of the tooth or something... Anyway... now I HAVE to go. I have an appt tomorrow AM with the dentist Kevin's boss' wife works for. I am NOT looking foward to this. I was told it may need to be CUT out... Please pray all goes well. IT's just a looksee type appt because I will have to be refered to an oral surgeon for anymore work. But I am dreading on going. I am depressed due to the whole stress the original visit a few weeks ago caused me.. and to know the jerk didn't DO his job I have to have someone FIX and FINISH it... So.. think of me Tues AM...I am pretty nervous again. (and that is putting it mildly LOL) A.

Hey Adrienne, Take that advise, the nitrous oxide makes a huge differance!!!!!!! You're awake, know what's going on, but it is muchhhhhhhh better ;D ;D Take it from someone does not like dentists. The sound of that drill drives me up the wall. I haven't had a cavity for years and it still drives me nuts. Pat

From a dental phobic, my prayers are with you.
Did you know dentists can prescribe anti-anxiety drugs for you to take before you get to the dentist? The drugs are in a class with valium. You start to get that panicky feeling and the drug just won't let you get upset. Combine that with nitrous and novacaine and you can get through the appt. Of course, if I had the option of being put to sleep, that would be my first choice.
My heartfelt wishes and prayers for an easy time.

OK so I am also a MAJOR Dental Phobic - and MB just so you know you CAN be put to sleep. I'm speaking from experience ;D - see my nice smile! The have what is called "Conscious sedation" and let me tell you - it works! Other than cleanings, it had been quite some time since my last visit. This year I tried a Dentist that does CS and he not only repaired 3 cavities, but replaced all my old fillings with natural ones! ;D Well worth the extra $$$$. Sedation was about $400. + his fees are higher than my plan covers, but again he was well worth the $$$$ and now I'm ;D! Best of luck and prayers your way!

Thanks guys.. I am leaving in a bit but wanted to say... I WAS on XANAX and the GAS when the original event all happened LMAO! That Gas does Jack Diddly CACA to me heehee!!! Ok... since I didn't share all that happened, I will say it NEVER should have, i would have been AOK with the XANAX and the GAS... IF they would have LISTENED to me and the doc wouldn't have SNAPPED! It's a looooong story. But, I have a HIGH tolerance to meds like the Gas, pain meds, Xanax, ect... always have, since I was a teen... low tolerance to pain but high tolerance to meds so the amount they SHOULD be giving me never works... so they kept upping the GAS but it really never took... and I took a WEEE bit more then my normal XANAX amount... Also, I HAVE been put under for an extraction before and then I have had one just with a local. I loved my new dentist SOOO MUCH and trusted him SO much that I decided to take my husband and TRUST him... but he SNAPPED... It really had nothing to do with the amount of meds they give me or anything else.. it was his abusive behavior, physically and verbally and the fact he broke a tooth and refused to go back in... stomped off, threw down tools... and I was doing nothing but crying and freaking out because he snapped... and prior to this I would have trusted my LIFE with this guy.. we went to him for over a year... my girls and I. Anyway... I am off to take my XANAX... LOL And... trust and nice and gentle don't mean a DARN thing to me anymore. I was TRYING to be a big girl but I will now HAVE to be put under due to his behavior... while I am there, I will get the two wisdom teeth out that I have to get pulled too.. might as well make it a party! A.
