Dolly, I feel your pain! Sarah just turned six and has very few words. She struggles to form them with her mouth, just like you described Eric. She has to try so hard to speak. She had open house at school Monday night and I met a new girl with Ds who is in her class. This little girl chatters nonstop and I could understand most of what she was saying. There is another girl with Ds in her class who is just as verbal. It makes me so sad to see Sarah struggle when other kids with Ds are doing so well. I really don't think it has anything to do with intelligence. I am happy to report that she is finally able to mimic our words. At least I can get her to repeat after me. I make her say I want ________ please, etc. Sometimes the words come out clearly and sometimes they don't sound anything like the word. She does a great job of saying ice cream though. I hope Eric's blister heals quickly. I know they are very painful. Poor kid! Chris

We will be going to the buddy walk in Duluth as we live in the northern part of Minnesota. Sam's communication skills are great he just doesn't talk but he signs like crazy. Jess

I am trying to have Emma evaluated for this too at the childrens hospital here in town. I hope it will also help her speech. She has very few spoken words. She does sign some and points. Leah
