Hi there, thanks for bumping this up for me... I remember reading most of this and its a good refresher that I read it again... So to start this off again,,, in anyones opinion, should I wait and give Cassie her MMR shot later, or get it now? Should I ask to see if I can get these shots in single doses spread out over 3 years maybe. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sandi,
I wouldn't take a child that has ANYTHING going on, not even a sniffle, for a vaccine. And that's just my thought, because their immune system is already busy with something, KWIM?
I think MMR given together is OK, they've been doing it for an awful long time, long before the rise in autism. I would NOT allow my child to have the ProQuad vaccine, which is MMR + Varicella (chicken pox) all in one vaccine. We talked about this just recently, the panel that makes recommendations regarding vaccines no longer recommends the ProQuad vaccine because of increased seizures in children who receive it versus those who receive MMR and varicella separately. If your doctor should have only that one in stock, I'd insist upon waiting until he has something other than ProQuad.
Aidan was late getting his first MMR, and hasn't had his second yet, and he's almost 2 1/2, LOL!!! As you can see, I'm REALLY spacing them out!
