tonite we had parent-teacher conferences at Eric's school. Eric is in a class with both typical and special needs children. In speech, his therapist has been working on the "H" sound....they sing a little song called "turkey in the haystack...ha..ha..ha.. Well, he said the "h" sound for her today...(he has apraxia, so any "sound" is a triumph for him). Later in the afternoon, another little guy who has down syndrome was working with the same speech therapist. This boy is totally non-verbal. The therapist was singing the "H" song again, but the little boy wouldn't respond at all. I guess Eric walked up to him and put his hands on the boys mouth...he kept saying Ha..ha..ha...and trying to manipulate the other guys lips. The therapist couldn't believe it...he was trying to teach the other child how to say "H"! His teacher said she had tears in her eyes! We use alot of manipulation at home, and his therapist follows up with it also. I guess its paying off!

;D ;D ;D WTG Eric... LOL Olivia does the SAME THING!!!!! she's a huge helper. When the ei class is on at her camp they sometimes let her help with the babies. WELL she gets a child in circle with her sits behind em and motors em thru the fingerplays signs . It's hysterical. AND if they resist. LMAO... They get a rashing from my girl.
