Hi Gina, I have taken Pooja my 11yr old daughter to India, which is a very......................looooooooooooooong flight 4-5 times now. Our longest and the worst stretch is about 15hrs, anyway Pooja seems a little tensed especially during take off, but with distractions like toys, movies and games she calms down and sleeps alot too.I always go to the DR. before our trip and get some medicines for her ear just in case. Benadryl would help if you think Ashton will have a meltdown or if you feel it would be better if she slept. Otherwise think on the brighter side if you bear the flight journey your whole family can have a wonderful time. Also Pooja loves the food they serve on Planes. LOL

I don't know very much about, Hawaii, but I am excited to learn! We are going to the Island where Pearl Harbor is, so I am not sure the name of the Island. I think the pros and cons list is a good idea. It is hard to make these kinds of decisions without emotion, so sometimes doing the list really helps. I think Benadryl is a good idea, too. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Yeah, that would make the vacation set! I bet she will do fine if she has been in the past. Honolulu itself is like any other city, but the north shore and over the mountain is great! THAT is how I think of Hawaii! Pearl Harbor is fantastic - I cry every time I go and I swear I won't!

I agree with the first commenter, your daughter Ashton must join you in a trip, I am sure the consequences might be worse if she doesn't. I always take my kids with me, sometimes I even manage to catch cheap flights , everything is rather comfortable.
