Reece was about 18 months old when I took her to get my mom when she was moving out here. I don't remember if I took a stroller but I did take the careseat. I don't think I took a stroller. We flew to AZ and then drove with my mom back. I got a big enough bag and did what the wonderful ladies here have already suggested. I am SUCH a planner by nature so I had plenty packed... let me tell ya! heehee Reece and I had a great time actually... since she was little and with a car seat, we DID get to board before the bulk which was nice. She did really well but I will tell you, it was a 4 hour flight and all though I had already changed her diaper.. I had to change it again LOL.. and that was going to be difficult in one of those skinny bathrooms.. so.. we did it with her standing up! LOL... What was also nice... is that I had a wonderful lady sitting to my right, mom/grandma type so she helped us if we needed an extra hand. I know Reece doesn't have DS.. but she DID to extremely well... I really didn't worry.. looked at it like a FUN adventure for both of us and that helped too! Try not to worry! We didn't do the benedryl or anything like that... but it truly was ok for us. GOOD LUCK CHESTER!!!! A.

We're all packed up and ready. We're skipping the benedryl.....just in case. Thanks for the warnings. I think we'll be just fine.
I packed up his school backpack, he thinks he's big stuff with that on. He's got his own can of pringles, a gatorade, some books, playdough and some of those markers that only work on the special paper in his bag. I've got the secret weapon in my bag....the DVD player. I've got my babysitter trying to figure out if we can download shrek onto my Ipod. Babysitters are good at that stuff!
I'll let you know how JT's first flying experience goes.......Ready or not, here we come!

WHOOOHOOOO! We're in Kentucky! JT made his mama proud! He was an awesome traveler! I should have brought a stroller or tried not to be so independant myself. We flew out of gate A9......the furtherest gate is A14, literally over a mile of walking. We did take the tram and people movers. JT loved watching all of the people and all of the suitcases on wheels and the carts. I should have packed somethings for myself for the plane. I was counting on entertaining him......not. He showed me that he is a big boy. He watched his DVD, flirted with the 20 year old cute girl next to him, chatted with the steward, drank his juice, ate lots of fruit snacks. He was quite mature about the whole thing. No ear problems.
He has been a trooper looking at appliances, lighting, flooring, etc etc....by far much more exhausting than the plane. But again, he is being so grown-up. I think it's maybe because I'm treating him like a three year old, and he is enjoying it.
Thanks for all of the advice!
