Could you please post your child's (children's) daily menu. Luke is so picky, he eats only the food he knows. I hope to see new ideas. Thanks...

ok.. breakfast we rotate... Pancakes, Oatmeal or Eggs w/bananas..
Lunch.. is Chef Boy R Dee meals or mac n cheese... and a single serving of peaches or mandarine oranges.
Dinner is again.. mac n Cheese or a spaghetti type pasta frozen meal. And applesauce as the side.
He does milk for breakfast and dinner.. juice for lunch. For snack he will eat a nutrigrain bar or a single serving of yogurt. Ususally it's the bar though.
We definately have a PASTA theme going on here! LOL
OH.. and I also throw in a babyfood jar of meat or veggie with the spaghetti type stuff at dinner a couple times a week for added nutrition per our devel ped at the DS clinic.
Other then that.. Russell won't eat ANYTHING.. and I really don't car anymore..LMAO... he is happy and I am happy! LOL
Good luck with the food ideas.. great idea for a thread Alice.. I can see what kids are or aren't eating!

Alethea eats whatever we eat. Sorry, the only picky eater I have is non DS and 10. Can't get him to eat anything that grows on the ground or in the ground!

Elena is also very picky. For breakfast, it's cheerios or cocoa puffs. She will eat pancakes, but mostly nothing else. For lunch, she eats at school, so I'm not sure what she eats. She likes fruit, PB&J, spaghetti, pizza, bread and chicken nuggets. So I think she just eats the fruit and bread most of the time. For dinner it's the same thing, she doesn't like anything I cook (if it's not one of those things).
Most of the time, I just make her drink her milk and don't make her eat whatever it is. She often goes to bed hungry because of it, but I don't make her something special very often. She is now in the habit of coming to me and asking "What are you making?" If she gets an answer she doesn't like, she thinks for a second and then says "Let's go out to dinner". Cracks me up, but doesn't work for her.

Charlie, 6 1/2 but very delayed, will eat almost anything we give him. But likes some things better than others and will self-feed very few items.
Breakfast -- usually oatmeal with Gerber fruit mixed in (first spoonful laced with levothyroxine)--but weekends sometimes gets cold cereal with fruit, sometimes pancakes or waffles, scrambled egg, pieces of bacon or sausage--cup of milk
Lunch -- buys the school lunch, menu varies, but Friday is nearly always pizza, loves pizza, cut into bite sized pieces, one of best food for self-feeding and spearing with fork, also loves chocolate milk, and does good job of picking up and drinking carton with straw stuck in it
Snack -- yogurt or pudding with crushed multi-vitamin mixed in, juice
Dinner -- usually whatever we're eating, and usually orange soda, often whatever we're eating needs to be cut into bite sized pieces, the other evening enjoyed Mexican food, likes spicy as long as not too spicy, chicken enchilada, Spanish rice, tostada chips, broken into pieces and rationed, one of very best things he'll self-feed, have to ration or he'll spend all his time eating chips and won't eat dinner, half an ice cream sandwich for desert
vegetable soup and cheese puffs are among favorite foods, will self-feed cheese puffs, but break them in half or will cram whole thing in mouth not among my favorite things but seems to enjoy McDonald cheeseburger happy meal, cut the cheeseburger in half and he will pick up and take bites, will eat the French fries but may prefer the apple dippers, also enjoys Chinese, and likes the green beans side and hashbrown casserole at Crackerbarrel and unlike the two teenage girls, Charlie appreciates my cooking, enjoyed the bean soup, beef stew, chicken gumbo, shrimp Creole
dammit, I'm making myself hungry again, maybe the Annex will have cacciucco today -- Bob, who just came for a good IEP meeting, ABA with DTT seems to be working well

MMMM Bob...can we come to your house for dinner tonight?? Andrew also will eat almost anything we eat. The only meal he is picky about is breakfast. I don't think he's so much picky as he has his own little "routine" kwim? It HAS to go like this..... I have to sing the "good morning" song to him (don't ask...LOL) Then we change his diaper, go downstairs, get his BLUE cup (has to be the blue one in the morning...again, don't ask) I put his vitamins in with his milk, he lies down on his boppy and drinks his milk. NOTHING to eat until the milk is ALL gone. If anything changes (a phone call, dog has to go out first etc) it's as if his whole world ended right then and there. I won't be able to feed him anything for the rest of the day without getting a "growl" and having it pushed away. After his nap in the afternoon then he'll eat again. LOL!!! I'll tell ya, this boy cracks me up!
His favorite foods are as follow: McDonalds french fries (now how many 22 month olds start signing EAT when they see a Mcdonalds sign?) mac & cheese Actually, any kind of pasta meetballs hot dogs cheese yogurt green beans mashed potatos But what ever you do, don't try to give him any fruit!! He will spit it all over you! -Trisha

Laura will eat anything we are eating. I love to cook and she loves to eat ... so does Mark! Actually I can't think of a single thing the two of them won't eat. On the other hand, Kathryn is soooo picky. For breakfast she will eat: toast, cheerios, kix, rice krispies, yogurt, nutigrain vanilla yogurt bars, banana, bagel with butter Lunch: any of the above, peanut butter sandwich (no jelly), bean burrito (no onions), occasionally she will eat french fries but they have to be from Wendy's (won't eat my baked ones) Dinner: any of the above, pizza, pasta with butter (no cheese), Uncle Beans flavored rice. Snacks: pretzels, yogurt, yogurt drinks, doritos (though I don't allow too much), granola bar (only choco chip), other kiddy junk food (gold fish, pop corn....)
I used to really stress over the fact that she was such a picky eater, but know I try not to let it bother me. She likes to help in the kitchen amking meatballs, breading chicken, that kind of stuff. She won't eat what she makes, but I figure it is a start. She gets a daily multi-vitamin too. For dinner I try to make a side that she will eat, but that is not always possible. On those days I let her have cereal or a sandwich. I won't let her go without eating because she is thin to begin with. I try to eat healthy and try to pass that to my kids. Even though she is picky she has to eat healthy foods, ie no sugar cereal, dessert is limited to a hersey kiss or two (other then special occasions). Not sure if any of this helps you .

Nicholas is not a big eater in the mornings. I'm not either, so doesn't really phase me. Now this may sound bad, but the only way we can get ANYTHING in him in the mornings is to let him sit on his little couch with a cup of juice or milk and a bowl of dry cheerios while he watches Sesame Street. And that's breakfast every single day. His absolute favorite food in the whole world is cheese! He asks for it all the time! You'd think he'd have a huge constipation problem from the amount of cheese he eats, but fortunately he doesn't! His other favorite would be pizza. He will eat a lot of the same stuff we eat. He likes breads, pastas with sauce, grilled cheese sandwich, yogurt, cottage cheese, pancakes (no syrup), scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon (Just not for breakfast! ), crackers (plain or with peanut butter on them). He'll eat rice, actually likes Salmon, but not tuna! Ice cream. M&M's, popcorn, French fries and onion rings, chicken nuggets and fish sticks (we're getting in the healthy stuff here, aren't we?) His big no-no's, which I believe are texture/sensory related, is all veggies, most fruits, and beef. He will eat applesauce, apples, bananas, and strawberries now. And I will say this for him, he will taste things. That's pretty much all I've ever asked from him or his brother. I'd like them to at least taste it. If they don't like it, they don't have to eat it. I wouldn't want to be forced to eat something I didn't like! I also try to remember to give him a chewable multivitamin each day. He'll eat most of it, then give the last little bit to the dog! Oh, and he LOVES anything with a "dipping sauce." Like chips and dip or tortillas and salsa, breadsticks and marinara sauce, fish with tartar sauce, etc...

Hmmm, after posting, I realized that you probably want to know what my non-picky eater eats to get ideas. Don't mind me, it has been a loooong week. Anyway, for Laura, the kid that will eat anything:
Breakfast: eggs and toast (I sometimes put meat or veggies in the scrambeled eggs), cereal, pankages, waffles, french toast, nutigran bars (either fruit or yogurt), gerber breakfast bars, banana
Lunch: chicken nuggets, sandwichs - peanut butter, cheese, ham or turkey with cheese and roasted red peppers (her fav), yogurt, granola bar, quiche (a good place to hide spinach)
Dinner: seafood - loves fish, shrimp, scallops, lobster...., meatballs, chicken (loves balsamic garlic), pizza, sherapd's pie, any kind of potato - smashed (good place to hide veggies), roasted, fries, tacos, refried beans (well, any beans).
snacks/misc.: roasted peppers, cheese, crackers, bagel with cream cheese, salad, fresh fruit, soup (clam chowder a fav)., lunch meat and cheese roll ups, tuna fish, pasta with marinara or pesto, mac and cheese, smoothies.
I try to cook all my own food and stay away from the prepared stuff because of the sodium and/or sugar content.

It sounds like Valerie has one healthy dog! LOL Nicholas giving his vitamin leftovers to the dog. How cute is that!
I don't mean to gross anyone out, but it seems Alethea and Mistletoe (our Beagle) share ice cubes (mind you, it's much to my disliking, but it's hard to catch everytime!).

Sorry not much help Justin will eat anything and everything except Broccoli. Have you tried getting creative with things like for breakfast making shaped or character pancakes, or add his favorite fruit to it or even chocolate chips, for frenchtoast I make pictures on the bread with food coloring, nothing fancy just happy faces and rainbows, flowers and trees and a weird looking dog ;D.

My Daniel is only 8 months...but I am assuming your looking for all our kids meals since you want ideas...so for us here it goes:
Breakfast : scrambled egg with american cheese, french toast, pancakes, frosted mini wheats, and any type of fruit
Lunch: I ususally do easy lunches like grilled cheese, pasta (Elayna loves the corkscrew kind celletani I think its called) peanut butter sandwich. I always give her a fruit and veg too. and veg too. Sometimes..I just make a fruit and veg plate with a yogert and cheese.
Dinner: chicken cutlet, spaghetti or any type of pasta, steak, any type of potato, chicken and rice soup, and once again I give her a fruit and veg too.
What I usually do is on Sunday...I prepare all my vegs that I give her. She likes things plain so like we might eat broccoli chicken and pasta....she will want it seperated........so I steam broccoli, baby carrots, zucchini. Then frozen I buy peas and green beans. Canned, I buy corn. I always buy fresh fruit. she likes cantalope, strawberries, grapes, honeydew melon, raisens, oranges, bananas and pears.
The best advice I ever got was from my cousin....she has 3 girls. She told me when Elayna was born.......she said try and keep her away from the junk and prepared food as long as you can. You got one chance to give her good eating habits. I remember that advice and luckily...Elayna went along with it and developed good habits. I try to stay away from prepared foods and canned stuff. I always remember reading that food closest to its original form is best...so if you can't buy fresh....get frozen...and lastly get canned.
Now, I am hoping my Daniel will eat as well as she does. I just started making my own food for him. He had been having gerber stage 2....but I am moving to more chunkier stuff...so I just make my own sweet potato and mash it and stuff like that.
Hope this helps!!

Meghan is pretty picky as well. She used to eat better when it was jarred foods. Breakfast is usually a bagel or waffles. She will eat certain cereals (rice crispies, cheerios, etc) with milk or hot oatmeal. And the occasional PopTart. Also, the oatmeal bites or bars w/ the fruit in the middle. Lunch is usually grilled cheese, peanut butter & jelly, cream cheese & jelly on toast. Or a bagel (she'd eat bagels 3 times a day if I let her!) She'll eat string cheese, yogurt, jello, pudding. Any type of cracker or chip, of course. Dinner - any type of macaroni, but she especially loves spaghetti. Mac n' cheese, whatever. Rice with sauce & cheese. Lo Mein. OF COURSE chicken nuggets & french fries....she calls McDonalds "old macdonalds" and "oh chicken & french fries!" whenever she sees the Golden Arches. She'll also eat the Jose Ole (frozen section) chicken taquitos. and the mini frozen egg rolls. Pastina cooked in water then I put in a little milk and butter, or I just cook it in broth. She loves tomato soup, garden gold soup (home made soup made from potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, blended creamy like bisque) and butternut squash soup. She won't eat veggies unless they're in soup - except corn. I make her eat applesauce (she'll eat any flavor), peaches or mandarin orange sections. The fruit/veg thing is very frustrating because I LOVE my fruits & veg...and she won't have anything to do with them. She used to eat tofu-meatballs, but no more. oh, and any kind of pizza. I make my own with the mini-pita breads. I let her help me make those and that makes her happy to be able to help. I notice she'll atleast TRY stuff they make in school during 'cooking' class...peer pressure, I guess? she's tried potato pancakes w/ applesauce, tuna on crackers, etc...but won't eat them for me here at home. She does love her milk, so atleast I'm happy for that. Refuses to take a multivitamin, but I sneak the liquid kind in when she eats cereal or oatmeal. Sorry if i went off a bit :-) laurie

Jason is sort of a garbage can and will eat almost anything that is put in front of him. The list of what he will NOT eat is much shorter than what he will eat.
Of course, if he were to choose his meals everyday, they would consist of hash browns for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch, pizza and breadsticks for dinner, with a few chips thrown in the middle. Yes, he is a little carbo addict so we have to keep him in check!
