Ok, most of you read my update last week. I was very honest about the seizures...they truly are awful to deal with. Just last week Emily's neurologist and I were planning our next method of treatment. In the week's time from that discussion I noticed that I wasn't seeing any seizures. Yesterday we went to CHOP for her EEG.
Now I don't know if it's because I finally learned some lessons, or maybe it was the oil Emily received during the annointing at the Mass for the sick we attended last weekend or maybe it's b/c I finally posted up and you guys started praying for us. It's amazing that just a week ago I felt like I had so much work ahead of me and now I've been taken off the list for the ketogenic meeting and prescriptions are not going to be written because
EMILY'S EEG IS NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You probably think I'm crazy or making it all up, but it's true. Just a week ago we were planning all this stuff and now we don't have to do anything but love her and help her catch up and she's probably been crying a lot b/c she just cut another tooth and it's in the back on top and no wonder she's miserable b/c isn't that a molar? Boy are those some freaky teeth in that mouth!!! LOL!!! I can't believe what I'm seeing - EEG and normal in the same sentence. I'm not making any sense because I am so freaking happy! The timing of all this is the wackiest part. I can't believe all that's changed and how quickly. What a difference a week can make. I'm still in shock. This is something I thought I was going to have to wait so long for and I was preparing myself for all this work and blood tests, sedation and hospitalization, etc etc...
You all, as usual, were wonderful to me. Many of you contacted me privately while I was going through this and although I wasn't able to hang around much b/c it was too hard and it hurt so much, you showed you cared and it means so much to me.
I hope I will be posting up that Emily is starting to meet milestones!!! She's already starting to use her hands more and has been grabbing her daddy's glasses off his face!
Emily, you are once again, my wonder baby. I just got even more excited for Pittsburgh. Wow, there's another sentence I'd never think I'd type! LOL!
Love to all,
Christine
