My husband and I were laughing earlier about Joy's made-up ways of saying certain words, and I was wondering if any of you have a list of favorites.
She has outgrown most of these, but we (the grown ups) still say them on occasion.
The ones we love most are...
Blip blop -- meatball
Flop flee -- flip flop
Lawler -- water
Cromise -- promise
Ebba -- Jana (our other daughter)
Woo woo -- police car, ambulance, fire truck
Anyone else want to add to our "DS Dictionary?"
Jenifer, mom to Joy Daisy

Here are just a few that Emily STILL struggles with!!
Her favorite pizza is "SEESAUGE". Don't even THINK of encouraging her to say "SAUSAGE".
Her younger brother has always been called "SHOW UN", rather than "JORDAN".
A boy at her school.....Jacob Phillips is called "KECHUP PHIPPS".
Our dog "Ginger" has always been called "SHEE SHUR"
And her favorite place in the world, Chuck E. Cheeses is called "KACHEESES".
That's all for now.

With the omissions, substitutions and reversals; words get changed very dramatically. e. g.:
pitau - dump truck poun ting - pajamas watch - sausage, salsa and applesauce gachew - shoes and socks tychew - tie my shoes please ga - socks click tongue then say gock - lock the car door please DADDEEEE - Geronimo (said before jumping or sprinting) MommyMommyMommyMommy - pay attention to me! Mommy ("yes") Mommy ("yes") - pay atention to me! cool - school I luck you - I love you ya ya - tortilla quiche - quiche l'eau - water lobidobber - lobster, helicopter crap hoop - crab soup Miss Hurray - Miss Elaine (sitter, she loved it.) wim poo - swimming pool ("No poo in the pool, go to the potty", makes him laugh and accept an intolerable task before swimming.) no pant - snow pants no key - snow skiing Cow Boy Pooch - cow boy boots where - I can't find my underwear lewdle hoop - noodle soup Lops - flip flop (he CAN make the "s" sound)
Oh. I could go on...... Sometimes these are repeated. Then it's Gregorian chanting.

I was consistently "Bob" but am more frequently "MoooooooMMMMM" now. I kinda miss the short sweet Bob's.
My MIL was here over Thanksgiving, he called her "Guck". At first I thought it was a combo of look and watch, but after awhile we realized that Gram was Guck.

Unfortunately, about all of his words right now would be "faux pas." He seems to leave off either the beginning or ending of most words. He's even doing this with words that he used to speak pretty clearly. I'm really hoping that after he gets his tubes put in next week, that will help!
Loved some of these other ones, though! I really like lobbidobber, has a nice little flow to it! ;D

My favorite was when Clarice was little, she would say Wah-Wah and try to sign "water". Most people thought she was just pretending to be an "indian".

Joshua's are probably more "baby talk" than "DS talk".
The funniest one, I think, is when he wants to be picked up. He says "Puh!" That's the word "up", backwards!

Oh my this is all so funny...Kaylee has quite a few also. Just had to say that one of Kaylee's most often and clearest phrases lately is :
"I LOVE TROY BOLTEN..."( that's for all you High School Musical groupies!) Cindy

Till Chris was 4 years old he called Kodi "Dee" Till he was 5 for me instead of Mommy he called me "Bee" One he has always had trouble with and tries so hard is Cheeseburger. He would say K O M O M A T E R Hmmm thats not even a word LOLOL but he would say that for Cheeseburger. So I worked with him on that and he still gets mixed up and will say sometimes C h e e s e k o mo b u r g e r Hmmm LOL For excuse me he will just say ME For God Bless he will just say Bless He likes to keep it simple and get to the point I think LOLOL Speech has always been Christopher's biggest issue and it floors me each and every time he comes out with words as clear as you or I. I will never for the life of me understand that part But even with his mix up of words he never ceases to amaze me even now at 14 how he improves ;D CC ~

k, when Sarah was little : Her brother Simon - Dai Chicken drumstick - gilly? Yogurt - Om? ?? Open for me - Dachy me??? And at 14 she still has problems Her Nanny and her aunt who is called Eileen are both Nallee, can't figure that one at all? I can get her to repeat Eileen for me but she still calls her Nallee And last year one of the classroom assistants was called Dominique and Sarah called her Dubadee! My friends daughter is Ellen and Sarah used to call her Ellen but a couple of years ago the bus escort was Helen and Ellen has been Helen ever since (her teacher this year is called Helen so Ellen just doesn't stand a chance!). I have sounded it out for her, emphasising the "Eh" sound - I say "Eh-eh-ellen" and Sarah says "Eh-eh-helen"! Weird Stella
