Samiya,
Welcome to Unmas!
My name is Debbie. I am not a parent but an adult who has Down syndrome. I am forty six years old. I came across this website as I was searching for Down syndrome websites many years ago. I love it and I think you will too.
I just love the way you write. I see the love you have by your words. If you can, please share with us more about Sahir and your family.

Samiya.....welcome to you and Sahir and your family. ;D ;D ;D ;D sheesh LATE? pleeease never to late for this bunch . I love your philosophy. I myself have found when my heart is broken or I am most vulnerable(like after I had Liv I was feeling this way) is when my heart is most open to accepting new things or perhaps changing MY perspective . Usually the latter hee hee I have found thru all of this that my joy exists in the fullness of the entire human experience., this includes both sadness and joy, pain and health, all of it...When I finally accepted the fact that life is all of these and that by ignoring em or denying my feelings I am doing nothing for myself or anyone. else. Just going thru em feeling em and putting yourself out there as vulnerable as all get out is the greatest reward I have had in my llife. Our culture here in the u.s. tends to tell us Oh just smile grin and bear it. Chin upboy no crying etc.But whatta huge state of denial that is and life is all these things the different the lovely the perfect the imperfect its all there and its all good. you know it. (((HUGS))) steff thanks for joining we need more of us here never too late

HELLO MY SISTER!
So very glad to meet you off this website and am deeply encouraged by the story you shared about your family. Can you post a picture of Sahir on your profile? I would love to see that sweet boy! Do you live in Dhaka? I'm in Thailand, but have some friends in Dhaka. I'm actually planning a trip to Bangladesh this September!
