Robin...I called the hotel (816) 474-4400 ...and they have no hotel shuttle...but there is a KCI shuttle that will take you to the hotel for 16.00. After 6 PM...you have to call for the shuttle...before that time you simply go to their desk in the airport.
I suggest you call the hotel and get this information for yourself. Probably not fair to call anyone to come get you...cuz the airport is a fairly long distance from the hotel...it would take a couple of hours out of someones day to make that trip. Maybe there is someone renting a car getting in about that time that you could hitch a ride with...but I suggest the shuttle as the easiest and cheapest way to get there. Just call the number I posted and ask how to get from the airport to the hotel. I take shuttles lots when I fly.

We are planning to get in early afternoon on Thursday. Katie has KU friends in KC that she wants to eat dinner with Thursday night and I am thinking that this would be a good time to run over to the Intercontinental where my family is having a reunion the end of August and see just what all I have booked for that get together.
We plan to leave right after the conf on Sunday and drive to Lawrence to visit Eds folks in assisted living.

We will be flying into STL on Monday. My husband is from St. Louis so we are visiting Granny and his sister & her family. His sister and BIL will be coming to KC with us to watch the kids. Not sure when we are driving over, but I hope to leave early enough to be able to make it a leisurely drive and still get in early enough to relax and enjoy ourselves Thursday night. When are you driving over?
Also what should we do with a 5 year old and 2 year old in St. Louis - I cannot sit around MIL's all day again - it is not good for either of us. We went to City Museum last time but it was a little overwhelming for the little ones. Ibby likes animals so we may have to revisit the zoo.

I was just going to say the zoo since it's free to get in! I don't know how the weather will be like next week but right now it's been unseasonably cooler (80's and no humidity) right now. Which is odd for July! Susan will be driving to my house Wed but won't get here until later in the evening. Then, if I have it correct, Connie drives to my house Thurs AM.. and then Susan and Connie will leave before I do, so they should be in KC before us. I have to wait for Kevin to get off work, he will be getting off work early so we could leave around 3/330 ish. And I think Jessie is going to attempt to drive in and make it so we drive with them in the afternoon...maybe So basically we are all driving in on Thurs.. .just at different times Does your inlaws live in the city or county? We live in St Charles county outside of St Louis. The city museum IS fun but yes, overwhelming for little ones. We took our oldest there but the younger two haven't been yet. I don't know what else you could do. You could drive over to my place and go swimming with us if it's hot! That's free.. you can my guest! A.

My in-laws all live in the city - a family of SL police officers so they have to live in the city (or used to at least). I think where they are is considered South St. Louis and St. Louis Hills. Thanks for the recommendations and the invite. The weather sounds great considering it was 92 with 70% humidity here today and this was a cool front.
I think my MIL has big plans for us in town (she belongs to some community pool and Sara just learned to swim). I told her I would run to Target for diapers when I got there and she said our visit was too short - no time for shopping, to just tell her what I need. Sounds like we're booked. I will let you know when we are driving over - we should all have a "NDSC or bust" sign in our window so we can pick each other out on the interstate. LOL.
I'll check in next week sometime to get any updates.
Can't wait to meet everyone - and our IPOD is loaded with plenty of fun music and some Hannah Montana & Zack & Cody TV shows for the road, so we can add to the fun if necessary.
