I am proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! You went in prepared knowing the BS they were going to attempt and held your tongue when you knew it wasnt the right time to use it. WTG GREAT AND WISE AWESOME ADVOCATE!!!!! They want you to play the game so just play it to placate them and show how open minded you are Go look at this second option they have for Erin...look around, do not let them push you into any corner and then go home and think and weigh all of Erin's options and decide what is right for her based on HER best interests, not the BS the school district is trying to pass off, just like you have been doing all along!!!! You ROCK Allisa! Keep us posted, I can't wait to hear what goes! HUGE HUGS girlfriend! Robin

Ah yes... sounds like you have a director that is paid to interpret the laws how she sees fit for the district... I am sure they pay her well LOL She sounds so assertive enough that most parents just believe that stuff... but it's tweeked to their advantage.. and the law doesn't quite read like that!

Allisa ~ I know exactly what you mean on them pushing certain programs and sadly not all but most times its all about the money. When Colin and I decided to pull Chris out of the public school OMG our district was like, "well if you really are going to do that, then we will send him to the district regional school for ones with sp. needs..." I just said I will look and I did and it SUCKED NOOOO way I would send my boy there. But I looked so they couldn't argue that I didn't even go KWIM I even went as far as to bring Chris in for 1/2 a day to visit the class as I did with the other places I was interested in. I went back to them with why the program we picked was most appropriate and they then had to prove me wrong. Which they couldn't ;D Just go and look at what ever they want you to, I know it takes up time but I found that it works to your advantage to just say fine I will add it to my list of places to see. KWIM If you cannot find any other program you think is appropriate at this time you can just request "Stay Put" until you do. They can mouth out lots of things to you, just remember most is them just hoping you will go along, least thats been my experience. You are doing GREAT girl, pat your self on the back and don't let them intimidate you CC ~
