Every year, without fail, Ryan wants to be a WITCH! Pointed hat, striped socks, etc. Nononono I always say... sorry - you're a BOY. He wouldn't go for Harry Potter either.
He loves the Little Mermaid, and Snow White, so I convinced him to be a prince (well, more like a king costume). A 9 year old prince - not too common ;D Anyway, he LOVES his costume and can't wait to wear it tomorrow. He actually says he is now the King from Far Far Away... LOL

Russell is a doctor ;D Regan is some Mardigras type person she tells me. She and her friend pulled something together on a small budget, the masks they are making. My criteria was NOTHING S.L.U.T.T.Y.! LOL Reece will be a leopard kitty cat.
**darn filter** LOL

Lynn tried to get them to be little rats, Remy and Emile from Ratatouille. But Robert was having none of it, wanted to be Buzz Lightyear again this year and for Charlie to be Woody again. Okay by me, use last year's costumes again, still fit, saves money. We've got a Bear in the Big Blue House costume lying around somewhere, never worn, was too big for Charlie a few years ago. Maybe one of them would like to be Bear next year. Probably not. And Lynn, no doubt, will come up with some other Disney stuff, mousy, ratty, cheesy. -- Bob

Oh Bob I hear ya on using the costumes again. Usually I try to go to Party City and get last years models for $5 or so. I buy a few and let Russell wear them for a few years. This year we had to get something new because he out grew the others! Coincidentally, we have a Woody costume too! Cute pics! A.

I always look forward to handing out the candy to our Trick 'r Treaters. I am the one who does it. I really enjoy it. We don't have very many though. Every year is different. We may have alot of kids one year and then hardly have any the next year. One year we had none. That was a while back ago. My Mother always buys candy and we hope we will have kids that come to our door way. I am always surprised at some of the costumes though. Some can be unusual! It can be hard to keep my fingers away from the candy! ;D

Noah was Woody this year. He got out there and then wanted to go for a walk till two guys popped up in their yards and scared him... so much for that! He cried he wanted to go home.... so we came straight home and I figure better luck next year.

Ok...this is a day late and a dollar short.....but here is what we did for Halloween this year.... Jacob, 11 as some creepy masked thing. Alyssa, 14 as a beautiful fairy....but her friends ditched her so she never went out to have fun trick or treating....made me sad!!!!! Justin, 4 1/2 as the cutest vampire ever!!!!!! Jarod, 7 as a black ninja....but pooped out after 20 minutes of trick or treating!!!!! That was a shocker!!!! Busy day and busy night for us...but good overall....except for Alyssa being left out by her so-called friends. My heart is still broken!!!! Any advice here? ? Deanna

Deanna, Alyssa's at such a tough age - so many are fickle at that age, but it could be that her friends wrote a check they couldn't cash - you know, offered rides from parents who had other obligations. Or when you said "ditched her" did you mean they walked out on her while in the midst of their celebration? If that's it, it could be that she was being a good girl and discouraging them doing mean or destructive things, and they didn't like it. Either way, I try to focus my kids on finding "true blue" friends that will stick like glue. So far, only one of my six has found one. The others are trying to be patient and all of them are beginning to realize the rarity and value of such a friend.
Best wishes Chris too

I had a screaming pea pod (he HATED the costume), a ladybug, and, believe it or not a pirate! We alternate between Jason being a pirate or Harry Potter. This year it was a pirate.

We had a great time this year! Tia, one of my 15 year old twins, and her best friend Allisa dressed up as Chefs. Big white hats, white aprons, black pants, black tuxedo shirts. They Looked very authentic! And (this is the best part) we put little Elizabeth in a lobster costume (Joby is from New Orleans so we called it a "crawfish" for his benefit! :-) Then they took a really big pot, lined it with baby blankets for cushioning, and put Elizabeth in it. It was the perfect size. The tail of the lobster stuck out one side while her head was across the other. She looked like they were cooking her!!! And she went right along with it, They each took a side and carried her around to the houses. Everyone loved it, and then they all looked shocked and asked "oh my gosh, is that a real baby?" Then everyone ran for their camera's. It was perfect. I'll try to post a pic. One of the best trick-or-treats in a long time. Sheryl
