Well Jade (my 4 yr old with ds) has been sick since the 10 day stomach virus from hell at the end of January. She finished her round of antibiotics for the UTI they said she had when she went in the hospital for dehydration. And then started having alot of pain when having bowel movements, then it was bloody and had mucus so I took her in to dr and they said hemorids, and constipation (but they took a test for a cdiff [which can happen because of too many antibiotics]), well that came back positive so she went on flagyl she just got off them on Friday and once again she is crying on the toilet everytime she has a bm. Does anyone have experience with this? The school just called she was crying. They said she said her stomach hurts (I don't know how she told them this, I never heard her say that). Oh well I am waiting for the GI's office to open back up from lunch to see what we can do if anything.
I just hate to see Jade in pain and from what I read on the internet colitis is really painfull. I guess the dr was trying the noninvasive measures 1st but I guess we are in for more testing colonscopy, barium enimas ... From what I read it is really hard to clear up a cdiff infection. Oh well thanks for listening. I just am having a really bad 2005 so far.

i have no real experience with that, but just wanted to say Good Luck! Maybe give her a lot of juice until you can get her to the doctor again.

I have it! It really stinks, but the good news is that it does calm down after time. I have it on and off. It can be triggered by foods, stress, sickness, period time...but it can go away once you id the factors and eliminate them the best you can.
