I just found out that Jordan won't be able to go with us. He's going on a church youth trip that whole week....leaving on the 14th and coming back on the 19th. I hate that, because he LOVES the Uno Mas get togethers. But (shhhhh don't tell him I said this) it might make it a lot easier for us to decide what we'll do! Emily is MUCH easier to please as far as activities. She'd be happy to go to Ober Gatlinburg or the little places with kiddy rides and go karts and arcades or a water park, etc. She loves miniature golf too.......not sure if anyone else would want to do that. Jordan would be the one to really want to go to an amusement park. (And he'll get to go to one on the youth trip!!) I'm still not sure if DH will be able to come with us. He has to be at work early Monday morning.
I think the very earliest we could get there on Friday night would be 6:30pm, because I have to work that day and there is the time change in East TN.........is that way too late for everyone else to eat dinner? If so, you don't have to wait for us, but I'd love to eat with you!!!!! There are LOTS of places to eat very close to the hotel.

I know I've posted this on another thread, but thought I'd show it again so we can decide if it's something we want to do on Sat: www.Obergatlinburg.comAnd check out this page: It has the rates for everything there. At the very bottom, it gives a price $20/per adult) for an all day wrist band. And kids six and under can ride everything with a parent free. I've done the Alpine slide and water slides many times with my kids in my lap. www.obergatlinburg.com/rates.htmAlso, I almost always see $1 off coupons for the tramway in restaurants in Pigeon Forge.....that helps a bit! And I wanted to ask..........is everyone ok with doing a "ladie's night out" dinner on Saturday night? In the past, we haven't done a whole evening out; just dinner so the moms can talk for an hour or so.

And one more thing................ Parking at Ober Gatlinburg is about $5 per car. We have also done this: You can drive from the hotel to a place in Pigeon Forge called Patriot Park and park for free. There, they have trolley cars you can ride around Pigeon Forge for something like 50 cents. There is one that will take you to a welcome center at the beginning of Gatlinburg (but way too far to walk the rest of the way) and then you can take another one to Ober Gatlinburg. I'd have to figure out how much that would cost.........but it's kind of fun to ride the trollies, and just leave the cars at the hotel. Edited to add: www.pigeonforgetrolley.org/fares.htmlI emailed the trolley company to check on some stuff like what ages of kids are free, etc. It appears that it costs 75cents to go from Pigeon Forge to the Gatlinburg Welcome center. However, I'm not sure how much it is to go from there to Ober Gatlinburg. LOL Might be worth the $5 parking!!

Can you tell that I'm getting excited about this get together?? I've been online all morning checking out stuff in the area..............what about this! www.cityofpigeonforge.com/pdf/programguide.pdfScroll down to the middle of this page. There is a picture of a really nice looking outdoor pool with water slide and stuff. And it looks like it costs $2 for adults and $1.50 for kids up to 18 years old! I don't remember seeing this place, but I've never really left the main "strip" in Pigeon Forge. Maybe this would be a good place to hang out and even do a picnic??? They are open on Sat from 11-6pm and on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm.

Hey Susan!! My goodness - you have been busy!! It all looks great!! So much to do and so little time!! 6:30 isn't too late for our family to eat dinner. We can always have a snack to hold us over, if needed!! We'll probably be getting there around 5:00 or 5:30 - but Steve has to be to work Monday afternoon so we'll be getting up awfully early and heading out Monday. I love the idea of just the moms going to dinner Saturday night!! The dad's can hang out at the pool or something with the kids. My kids love to play miniature golf and ride the go-karts - stuff like that. Would anyone be interested in going to the Dixie Stampede possibly Sunday afternoon? There's a really neat place called Fort Fun on the strip in Gatlinburg right before you get to Obergatlinburg. It's pretty neat, you can play laser tag ( which my husband enjoys more than the kids ), putt-putt, ride these little round bumper car things...lots to do...you can get a pass to do like three or four activities...it wasn't that expensive and lots of fun! No matter what we do, I'm sure we'll have a good time. See you guys soon!!
