Been there, done that...felt just like you do now. And, yes...it was all about money.
However, when they had completed their assessments and wanted to meet to talk about why they felt he did NOT need a 1:1 aide, I was prepared.
The meeting was with the regular ed teacher, sped consultant, principal, OT, PT, Speech Therapist, Social Worker and myself. I came in with my OWN "assessment". I passed it out and asked everyone to complete it before we began the discussion. As they read it over, there were a whole lot of looks exchanged and eyebrows raised between them.
AJ got an aide.
Here's what I passed out. Keep in mind the anwers were all, "No" and "Physical" and they knew it.
