Oh nooooo~! Victoria took it upon herself to encourage her brother to try her snowboard today. She is so good with him, actually got him on the board, and held onto him and ran down the hill holding him up, until they collapsed together in a heap laughing hysterically at the bottom of our hill. The first word out of Ethan's mouth when he got up? "AWESOME!!!!" Followed by: "Do it again, sis?" I think we'd still be out there if Victoria hadn't had a swim lesson this evening. I'm glad he liked it, but.....snowboarding? ?? Ugh. P.S. Thanks, Cathy, for the whooooshing. We got TWELVE inches of snow here yesterday. I am the happiest snowbird in the country, LOL!

Sounds like he had a great time and what a nice big sister. I think it's great that he wants to do it again.

You're right CC, I was really being a smart-aleck. I'm good with any physical activity he wants to take up.
I think I have a "new" skiier's antipathy to snowboarders, though. I just skiied for the first time a few weeks ago (I know, hard to believe the snowbird has never skiied!) and many of the snowboarders are a bit of a menace on the hills.
I'm taking lessons once a week, and LOVING it, the instructors say I'm a natural, and I never even went on teh bunny hills....started with the moderate ability hills. Makes sense, given my LOVE for snow, LOL!!!
and Naomi, you're right about his Sis.....she's soooo good with him, and so patient. He (and we) are very lucky to have my girlie.

How fun! Snowboarding is HARD and uses every muscle (you didn't even knew you had). More power to him...Go Ethan!!!

John is 9 and also got a snowboard for Christmas. He worked on it and worked on it and now he is such a pro. I am so proud of him. He is going skiing next weekend with his Dad and brother and sisters. I am not a skier, and not really interested in learning, so I will just go and watch. He has gone several times and has a great time! I highly recommend this sport for kids- they pick it up so fast!

Sorry Jessie, but I have to LOL !!!!! That is SO Emily!!! One negative experience with anything (bike, roller skates, etc) and she is DONE with it. And there is nothing you can do to convince her that she might possibly want to try again!
