OH cool... they are the IDEA 2004 edition? There are a few newer books I need to get, I keep them at home and reference then for parents and now with me heading our county's new DS community group, I need to get with the program and get more books!

Okay, I have to reply. Was it my ex-husband's girlfriend who did the eval. I know it wasn't. Just that she is a self-impressed idiot. I declined eval and it was recommended I do so by the teacher. There are too many variables and an eval can go one way or another based on the compentency of the psycologist. I know there are wonderful ones. but my ex's girlfriend has caused more difficulties "educating" my un-involved ex husband. He was too busy to be care about Dani's education or learning process. Because she has this education, she feels she has the authority to undermine my decisions and parenting of my lovebug. Poor Dani is so confused and now does not want to go to daddy's anymore. However, I also have encountered some awesome psychologists who understand and take the time to work with children and learn the dynamics of the child rather than going off a sterile sheet of questions. There is much more to an eval, there needs to be that personal connection and trust for a child to show his/her true potential.

thankyou...agree Sorry it's so yucky, messy, whatever the word is to describe your ex's "doctor person" all up in your life...hate it I know, and you have the brains w/o the psych degree...plus children can always sense "plastic" people when they're around them! (and no I'm not talking about barbi dolls!) Dani's obviously intune with what's "real" and glad she's with her mommy. Sorry you have to deal with this.
