Christine They "say" they are feeding them well. Pizza and nachos daily seems a little unhealthy to me. I am going to the cafeteria and talking with them. We have pulled her off fries for good. She loves them but it is hard to get the weight off her. I do send healthy snacks when it is my turn.
Debbie, I am glad you were given some good choices. I would love for Lauren to understand that eating healthy is important. We eat very well at home.

Renee, it might be easier to teach Lauren to make her own lunch than to fight the system KWIM? Either way, it looks like you've got a battle on your hands. Ugh!

Our new school doesn't have a great menu either but I only let Meghan buy lunch on Fridays (pizza day)...otherwise I pack her lunch the night before and then I don"t have to worry about it in the morning (save taking it out of the fridge and putting it in her backpack!) -- since she's in first grade they still have snack in school and I need to make that each night anyways, so I just do them both at the same time. If Meghan is still awake, I have her help me put both together.
