My EI was the best thing that ever happened to me. But...it was a long time ago and was conducted far differently than most now is. Ours was a "center based" program...meaning we took our babes 3 times a week...Em was 6 weeks when we began...to a room at a local elementary school. We had therapists and trainers...etc. BUT the best part is that I met other moms...not all moms of kids with DS...but there were a couple. Being a 4th time mom I THOUGHT I knew it ALL and could do it alone...also remember I was an Occupational Therapist.
BUT ...let me tell you...just meeting those other moms that I could talk to in a 'different' way than I talked to my other friends was a God send. Much like finding friends here on UNO MAS...except I could reach out and actually touch them and their kids!
I agree...waiting for the services is not probably going to change much but might be valuable for you. Just talking to your trainers who understand what you are going through...all this might help you and also Noah.
Are there any UNO moms in your area...that would be a wonderful beginning. But kudos to you for making that first call....I know it wasn't easy.

Wow I thought I already commented on this! You are such a good mama, I know it was hard to make that call and kinda "face reality". Ayden and I are very proud of you! (Hugs,) Myria
