I knew this was coming up & still missed this post until it's all over. I'm praying now for a quick recovery & a neg test result on the cancer. How is she doing? How are you doing? I'll just add a few extra prayers for you too, Jennifer.
Let us know as soon as you can.

Well, everything went well The hour drive up there this am felt like forever. The awful feeling of gunna pee my pants, throw up and have a heart attack all at the same time is AWFUL!!!! I will never again take the word of one doctor as "gospil" though. My trust in doctors has been smashed to bits!! It all began like this: Mary had a spot on her x-ray from the ortho. Sent us to this big wig guy who classified it as a Centeral Giant Cell Granuloma. A real rare type of tumor. Filled our head w/ the "worst case senerio" of could be cancer hopefully not but... most likely will lose teeth and have to have implants, the tumor has grown "into" the nerves in her jaw bone and she will most likely loose feeling in the right side of her face if they can't save the nerves, on and on and on they went. OMG all the family says!!! I told the ortho what they had said and he was quite upset w/ this specialist guy who would dare to say this "thing" in her jaw is a tumor or anything for that matter until they got in there and looked at it and sent it to pathology. Ok I said and my nerves were calmed a little bit but not much. Still scared to death. This is what actually went down. Brace yourselves for some p'd off thoughts They take her off to the OR and we get a beep beep on our parent pager's no more than 45 minutes later when they just got done telling us all to go eat it would be a few hours. (The nurse must of heard our tummy's growling ) Bet you've never seen 3 parents FLY up to the 8th floor so fast in you life w/ crazy thoughts going through my head and poor Gramma left in the dust (Man i'm outta shape) There stands this "specialist doctor/surgeon" guy and he tells us they cut her jaw open and there was NOTHING in there. You gotta be kidding me!!!!!!! He says he was wrong and now he thinks it's a Tramatic Bone Cist. There was no "tissue" in there at all just a open pocket of air w/ a little blood collected in the bottom. And she got to keep all her teeth Us parents are looking at each other like were gunna rip this guy to shreads but we were real nice and thanked him and demanded to see our child! She came out of the recovery room all groggy but happy to see us. We stayed for about three hours and went home. I don't really know how I feel right now. I'm super happy that she is ok but man, that guy put us through weeks of major stress for nothing. I could go on and on about how I feel about the whole situation but i'll spare you all that My Mary girl is home and safe and mommy is super happy Thanks to all of you for praying for my girl. I thought of you guys all day and kept telling myself everything will be fine. This is the entry way to Doernbecker's w/ the Eternal Flame. This is also the hosp who saved Brookers life Mary and her buddy bear This is right when she came out of surgery and mom asked how she was doing This one is when she passed out on me and mommy freeked out b/c no one told me she wouold pass out while talking... just poof, out like a lite This is going home w/ her popcicle

Oh good grief! You've got to be kidding me! This is nuts...there is a big difference between an air pocket and a mass!!!
I'm glad to know she's home and is going to be fine, but I'd still be furious!

I'm SO glad she is ok, and that NONE of those "worst case scenario" things are true at all!!! And yes, VERY frustrating that you had to go through those months of worry! I'm sorry about that........just a shame! I hope she recovers quickly. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Could it be that, what with all the prayer, God removed the tumor & left a hole so we could see what He'd done? What are they going to do now about her pain & the air gap? Or did they fix that while they were there? Did you talk to them about what could cause such a thing? In any event & sure am glad that Mary will not be having a major visit from the tooth fairy Enjoy having your girl back home again!

Thank you so much for the update. I was so worried that something was wrong and praying that nothing was wrong! I cannot believe that they were so far off! Gotta believe what Chris said is true...GOD must have removed it for her and showed us all his great work! So so so glad it all worked out.

Ya know that just might be the case Chris. SOOOO many people were praying for my girl. The prayer chain went from the mechanic down the street to the nail salon at the other end of town stopping at every church along the way to all of you'all's towns and ended in PA where Gramma lives. Thats a big circle of friends Traumatic Bone Cyst – The traumatic cyst is not a true epithelial cyst, but represents an empty or fluid-filled cavity of bone lined with a fibrous or granulation tissue membrane. The term traumatic was used to implicate trauma as the cause. However, less than half of the instances are associated with any significant trauma to the jaw with an unknown etiology. The lesion is located most often in the body or anterior portion of the mandible, and radiographically it is radiolucent. A classic feature is its tendency to scallop between the tooth roots. The overlying teeth are vital. Microscopically, a thin membrane of fibrous granulation tissue may line the cavity. Treatment with exploratory surgery following aspiration causes hemorrhage which may expedite healing. We have a meeting next Thursday to talk about some things. All of us were so drained yesterday and doc was so busy we opt'd for a meeting next week. They "burned the area w/ water and air" ,made it bleed real good and the blood will heal the cut in her bone and fill in the "hole" with bone again. She will have to have x-rays every 6 months for along time to insure it doesn't get bigger and is healing up. After a good nights sleep i'm not as p'd as I was yesterday but i'll just concentrate on the Googy Girls and wait till next week for the meeting.

WOW... what a day what a day.... I think I'd be none to happy with that doc! But... I yes, tearing into the doc wouldn't have helped.
Years ago I kinda went through this but not this extensive. I was told I might have cancer in my hip when I was in my early twenties... then got the "don't worry until we tell you to worry" speach LOL It was very quickly ruled out with blood work and it was arthritis. But it wasn't a fun couple of days!
Hugs to Mary for going through all she has!! Hugs to you too!

I am definitely praying for you all right now. I am so sorry that you have to go through this stress. I don't know how I would feel, I would be going crazy. Please let us know as soon as you can. May Heavenly Father keep you all strong and filled with his love and peace. May you rejoice with good news and let this just be something to remind you how blessed you are. Not that you are at all the type of person that doesn't know and appreciate everything. Your positiveness and joy always brings smiles and tears of gladness. You are incredible, really. Love you, Jessika and Noah
