I came across this on a site... not sure if it is legitamte or not, but I can't see any harm in sending a penny with your town / city on the envelope !! I'd love to see how he makes out....
Send MAC a Penny!
My son MAC (Michael A. Clarke) is 5 years old and starting Kindergarten in the fall. He was born with a physical disability (he has no fingers on his left hand due to amnioic band syndrome) and sometimes has a bit of a hard time making friends. I met his
teacher at kindergarten round up and explained my concern, and asked if there was anything I could do to help him. She advised me that during the first week of school they have a lot of sharing/getting
to know me activites where the children share what they did during the summer etc.
I asked MAC if there was anything special he would like to do before school starts so that he could share the fun with his new friends.
He told me he would like to find a million pennies and share them with his friends.
This is where I need your help! We have a big map set up in our kitchen and have placed a dot on the state where we have already recieved a penny (family members in Ohio). I have the envelopes in
a box, and the pennies in a babyfood jar. When school starts we can bring the map with all of the dots, and the kids will be able to work on thier counting skills as they count the pennies together!
Please help MAC by sending him a penny! Please don't forget to write your city and state in the return address so we can map you! We hope to have pennies from all over the country, and hopefully the world!!
Thank you in advance for your help!
