I sold our first home FSBO while I was in the middle of making chicken quesedilla's-which takes over the whole kitchen practically. The couple sat down and negotiated..they may have actually eaten with us--can't remember exactly--but it sure wasn't my ideal situation! The second house we used a realator and de-cluttered, painted, baked, sparkled and sold in one week. Depends on the market in your area--but a farm house sounds great!!

I don't have any extra time right now to watch HGTV.....I'm LIVING HGTV.....and I want out!!!!
I've been sorting through everything. I've given up on shredding and we've had a nightly fire of old insurance papers, bank statements etc.
The Goodwill could probably change it's name right now to "Dawn's clutter". If there is a plastic bin shortage soon, it's because I've purchased them ALL! My goal is to have the major sweep through done by this weekend....then out comes the paint and then the dust rags!

Dawn, How is everything going? I hate sorting and I have alot of it left to do, too. We moved last July but still have all our junk and clutter at our old house. It needs some work before we can sell it, so I haven't had to hurry. What town is your farm near? My sister and her family are going to move to Wisconsin soon because her husband changed jobs. They would love a small farm!

Things are moving very slowly. Remarkably though I am not at all stressed. My husband works for a major company and they have a service that takes care of all the relocation needs. Our house still isn't even on the market. My husband starts in KY January 2. The kids and I will hold down the fort here until things work out. The longer we can stay during this school year the better. I think the house is pretty much ready for the market. Our oldest son's room needs to be bulldozed out yet, and we've got some odd trim pieces here and there. But we've made HUGE progress.
Donnita~ We live about 45 minutes away from the Twin Cities and about the same from Eau Claire. The Western part of the state. Where is your sister moving to?

I think they will be farther south, maybe around Madison. I guess they will have to find a house themselves!
