Well, while I visited at unomas today, seems Patrick, who hates to draw, got hold of a Sharpie permanent marker and scribbled on our light maple colored pergo floor, the door to his room, his bed, himself, a pair of flip flops and the hard placemats. Oh boy. The floor was the only thing that freaked me out.....big, huge black circles on that pale yellow. I tried the Pergo floor cleaner, only got lighter and smeared. So, I went to their website and they recommenced acetone nail polish remover. I held my breath and it worked! Thank goodness. I thought it would be way too harsh. So, in case you are ever in the same situation.....go for it.

YIKES!!! WOW.. glad it did work.. that would have scared me that the acetone polish remover would have taken more off then just the pen! I remember when we lived in CA and Regan and a friend used a sharpie on our kitchen nook table... YIKES!!!! needless to say... it never came off.... but.. we never tried the acetone and we don't have the table anymore... LOL

Oh A!....I spoke too soon. Just found black sharpie on the love seat cushions. It is a darker pattern- tapestry type fabric...and kinda old...but still needed to do duty. So...I guess I am back on the web searching for how to take permanent sharpie off fabric!

Oh- when I saw the title of this topic, I cringed!!! James got ahold of a ball point pen and drew beautiful lines on all 4 pieces of our brand new laether furniture...I remember the feeling I had when I discovered it!! I am so glad you were able to get the floor cleaned up...and good luck on the couch!

It worked!! yeah. found this site: www.ehow.com/tips_2598.htmlAfter reading through, decided the thing that sounded safest was oxy clean. I had a tub of oxy clean free powder that I use to clean carpets (renting the cleaner from the grocery store). So, mixed it under directions to remove spots from carpets and worked like a charm on the fabric couch and the throw pillow. It didn't lighten either one. I was so impressed...I washed 7 throw pillows. They are kindof a fake suede look and I had been scared to try the washing machine and they all needed a good cleaning.

Tricia...it must be in the AIR...I got an email from my DIL yesterday. They are in Charlotte NC in an executive apt waiting for their house to close ...so can you say....RENTAL! Apparently 5 yr old Sam (who knows better) decided to use magic marker to decorate the window shades. Banished to the bedroom he then apparently proceeded to do the walls!!! Jess said...when inflicting punishment ...one should remember to take away the object which caused it in the first place. Sounds like YOUR situation...LOL...but sorry...really am. I used to be a printer & worked w/ alcohol soluble ink. It should come off with just regular rubbing alcohol. Next time try this first before tryting some of those harsher things. I'm glad you got it off. I know it's worked for me! Did I say "next time"? Pat
