We're heading towards Disney World in about a month.
The last time I was there I was a child and my Mom and Dad footed the bill, I mean provided the fun.
Any pointers, suggestions, advice, warnings? Anything would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dawn

HAVE FUN!!!!! I'm so envious! It's been several years since we've gone to WDW, and I'd love to be going again!
One piece of advice.............there are places on nearly every corner in Orlando (and along the interstate on your way there) that advertise DISCOUNT tickets to all the major attractions. AVOID those at all cost! In turn for those discounted tickets (which, I think have been sold to them by people who didn't use all the days on their Hopper passes), you have to sit thru a time share sales pitch for an hour or so. Remember..........if it seems too good to be true, it is! We got VERY excited the first year we took our kids to Orlando, and were thrilled to find all those discount ticket places. UGH.
As with any amusement park, the soft drinks are WAY overpriced. We found that every fast food place in all the parks would give free glasses of ice water (better anyway), so we avoided soft drinks in the amusement parks altogether.
Not sure which parks you plan to visit, but I highly recommend Sea World!!!! We LOVE it!

Yeah. Don't go. Failing that, cut all your credit cards in two. And take my wife, please. -- Bob
ps Stop at Guest Relations, just inside the gates at Town Hall in Magic Kingdom other locations at other parks, and get special needs assistance pass, can use a stroller as a wheelchair, pass is good at all parks and maybe for Disney buses

I'm right there w/Emilysmom - love love love Seaworld. We went this past February and did Universal and Seaworld and had a great time. One suggestion, rent a wheelchair! This was probably the best $$ I spent in the park. Because Haley has loose/weak joints, her legs get tired VERY quickly and even when she didn't use the chair, either her Dad or I would take a break if needed .

i promised my kids six years ago that we would go to disney, then came victoria,,,,,, so alot of plans went out the window , my oldest daughter is seventeen so i figured we better go or she would be all grown up... and i figured it was going to be a one shot deal so we went to disney, disney calif, universal studio, knottsberry farm, sea world and san diego zoo,,, we rented a double stroller for victoria , and mariah the wheel chairs were pricey30.00 so we opted for the stoller,,,,,,,,, at disney land u get to use the disabled line which is usually shorter,, we didnt use it because i felt funny about it.... and because there were seven of us we were there for 11 days and about the third day we were gettin really tired of the lines.. we brought halters and leashes (we bought backpacks, for change of clothes, ect and regular retractable leashes, we didnt need them after the second day because victoria was too tired to run away anymore...) there are web sites for helpful hints for all the parks...... they will look the other way if u bring water or soft drinks and food in .. in moderation , no glass bottles no knives ect... we all wore cargo shorts or pants and filled our pockets with snacks and drinks ect.. they dont search you just your knapsacks... i figured sometin out though at universal studio victoria is six and doesnt do lines all that well so we were missing pictures with the stars so when victoria saw shrek walking with fiona she bolted for them and i grabbed her........ then i thought what the hell and i let her go!!! lshe tackled fiona hahaahahaha they had to stop and we got our picture no line!!! victoria got wet and pottied in her clothes so we counted ourselves lucky.. though we prompted her alot to go potty so we didnt have any accidents(besides that one) she had so much fun , we all did though it almost killed us,,,,even with the stroller we took turns carrying victoria on our backs(sixty lbs) untill none of us could turn our nexts for a couple weeks.........

Disney is Christopher's most favorite place in the world ;D My suggestion is just have a BLAST and do your self a favor and don't think that you will get to see it all on one trip, I say pace your self its better on the kids, KWIM We have been there three times and hope to be going back again next year. If you have any specific questions, ask away. If you have a Disney store in your area you may want to stop in and get the book they have giving you all the info on the parks, like what is a must see to the last thing to see. Its quite cool, they come out with a new one every year. CC ~

We may have to rethink our plan of attack...by the way LOL Bob!
We decided we're doing "the mouse trap" once. So we're staying the whole week at the parks. However, my daughter is lobbying hard for an ocean side trip. We'll go back to FL, and the ocean will be the main focus....but maybe we should go to Seaworld instead.
We did the meal plan. This is the first time in my whole entire life I know exactly where and when I'll be eating for a whole week, LOL. We're also staying in a Disney hotel.
Has anyone done the "special halloween pass"? Guess the park is only open to those who buy the halloween tickets and the parade, fireworks and characters are all halloweened up.
How about the waterpark pass? Any opinons on that? We're playing that one by ear for now. It can be added to our package, so we thought we'd see how the weather is. Thought is might be a nice break from the disney park lines, etc.
Thanks all! Dawn

Dawn did you sign up for any character meals OMG its not a Disney experience if you don't eat with Micky, Minnie, Cinderalla.... Enjoy and we are jealous, we would love to be going back BTW we got the pass that let you hop from park to park and it included some of the water parks. You can purchase your park passes at the hotel when you get there no difference in price if you get them early or when you arrive, in case you didn't know that CC ~
