So we can have a general place for links and resources that are related to IEPS, IDEA, Advocacy, STATE resources, ect... I will start this thread for that! That doesn't mean you can't start your own thread... but this way... if we want it easy to find for ourselves later.. and for others to find... we can post it here! I made it "sticky" LOL.. so it will stay on top for quick access!
Also... to make it easier for "quick find" later.... if you want to respond to the poster about the link... or have questions... let's start a new thread for that.. or PM the member... this way we don't have to weed through responses in this one thread.. to find links.
Again.. you can do your own thread... or post the link here.. or BOTH! Just wanted something to make it EASY!!! Hope no one minds!
So... post those great links and resources here and ENJOY!
A.

Lots of info and resources at www.wrightslaw.com/Website of Pete and Pam Wright. Also can find little gems, like this one that someone on Down-syn pointed out recently: www.wrightslaw.com/info/advo.fruitcake.power.htm Improving Schools: One Person is a Fruitcake, 50 People are a Powerful Organization If you think that you alone cannot do much to improve your school, you are probably right. You’re more likely to get what you want for your child if you work with other parents. If you are in a school that is not parent-friendly, this is how you might be perceived. 1 person = A fruitcake 2 people = A fruitcake and a friend 3 people = Troublemakers 5 people = “Let’s have a meeting” 10 people = “We’d better listen” 25 people = “Our dear friends” 50 people = A powerful organization” If you collaborate with other parents and organizations, you can make a difference. There is strength and power in numbers.

[shadow=red,left,300]Luv this thread...Thankyou A![/shadow] I'm usually up late online reading while my munchkin is asleep... Here's a link that gives alot of useful info on the legal aspects and is updated and current...it's a must read for me to get informed and know my rights as a parent and my son's rights as this awesome son of mine! I'm barely getting a handle on the terminologies and I'm seeking out advocacy groups to help me better understand...so I can be armed with knowledge! [glow=green,2,300]armed and dangerous![/glow] www.ncld.org/content/view/264/314/

I just wanted to spread the word about Flourish Network, at flourishnetwork.org/index.php/front/home a new nonprofit online network for parents of children with Down Syndrome. Parents can connect, share and organize information, and find the latest news related to Down Syndrome. Right now on their homepage, you can find an exclusive interview with Dr. Harpold of DSRTF on the latest cognitition research in Down Syndrome. Flourish Network has just gone live. If you join by May 15th, you will have a chance to win an autographed copy of Roadmap to Holland by Jennifer Graf Gronberg.
