Well, since most of our plastic bottles have been pulled off the shelves, maybe some of you are wondering what you are going to do now if you were using one kind of bottle and its now been pulled. I was using the Avent bottle. Its the only bottle Cassie would use. Of course the plastic bottle has been pulled, but the nipples havent been. Its very sad that my little girl has been using a bottle that could be potentially dangerous to her health. I had searched on "safe" bottles to use, and the Nubby was one of them. It looks like a sippy cup on top, but the rest is like a bottle. The sippy nipple is soft, so I thought maybe Cassie would be ok with it. But not really. She will suck from it, but not for long. So tonight when I was giving it to her, she wouldnt really drink for long periods of time, she wasnt all that thrilled with it. I thought hmmmm I wonder if the Avent nipple will fit on the Nubby. Well it does! I was so happy. So if anyone is using the Avent bottle and is wondering what to do, you could always do what I did. Just thought I would share that with you all.

Here in Canada, you cant purchase a bottle with this crap in it now, or water bottles. So many things have been pulled off the shelves. I noticed today though, that the Playtex sippy cups with the handles are ok cause they are still on the shelves.

As far as I can tell, it's only the hard, clear bottles that pose a risk. If your sippies or bottles are the opaque or soft kind (I used Evenflo that were very flexible and in colors), then you shouldn't worry. It seems that the risk from the cans we buy our food in is greater by far than that of baby bottles or sippies. Frozen veggies or fresh are better anyway. I only get my tomato products canned. Maybe I'll can my own this year - in my spare time

I went to a big store that starts w/ a "W" and they had all the bad bottles still on the shelf. I go to another store that starts w/ a "B" and they did too. So Mary, Brook and I drive all the way to 82nd to "B R US" and they had good bottles AND bad bottles still on the shelf. I got Brook 3 new bottles and threw all the other ones away. I just couldn't believe these stores still had them on the shelf I know, I know, why is Brook still on the bottle?!! She just won't take enuf fluids from a sippy yet. We are working on it.

I hope that you guys didn't totally revamp your bottles. Sheryl and I bought a couple Born Free, but then thought, why not use the colored bottles. You can still use the nipples you like. We have been using Avent and the sippy cups will accept the nipples. It has been a God send because the no BPA bottles are not cheap.
